The thread of 2016 retro re-releases

Post by noiseredux »

Hello. In this thread we'll keep track of retro re-releases. Be it compilations of old games on new consoles, HD remasters, remakes, etc. This is exclusively for 2016 re-releases, as it can be interesting to just keep an eye on new old games.

*the word "retro" will be used as you see fit. Let's not use this thread to argue about which games are and are not considered retro.

Day Of The Tentacle Remastered
PC, PS4, Vita

Image

Remastered HD audio/video (original audio/video also included) and optional controller support for PC version.

Final Fantasy IX
PC

Image

HD movies and character models, achievements, cloud saving, new mouse control options...

Resident Evil 0 Remastered
PC, PS4, XBox One

Image

The follow-up to the HD re-release of RE1. New HD visuals, achievements.

Atari Vault
PC

Image

100 Atari games w/ online multiplayer and leaderboards!

Disgaea PC
PC

Image

New visuals, UI, mouse/keyboard support, achievements, cloud saves.

Arcade Game Series
PC

AKA: Namco Museum 3000. Bundle includes Pac-Man, Galaga and Dig Dug. Presumably more games to follow. Achievements & leaderboards.

Corpse Party
PC

There's so many versions of this game now, I can't keep up. But I think this is a remake of the original PC game with all new HD visuals, but it uses the translation from the PSP version? Or something?

On May 6, 2016, it was announced that The Silver Case will be remastered for Microsoft Windows, using Unity, for release on online stores Playism, Steam, and "other platforms" in fall 2016. The remaster of The Silver Case marks the first time the game will be released in English. The English localization is being undertaken by Active Gaming Media, the parent company of Playism.

I wonder if it will differ from the previous HD release.

Think someone did mention this version is getting a physical release though.

It is, as is Resident Evil 5's remaster/port.

It'll be interesting to see how RE5 looks, since I still think it looks pretty damn good as is. Whatever engine Capcom were using (forget the name) early last gen holds up pretty well.

Where's my Lost Planet remaster!!!

Cool thread. Those Namco games on Steam are tempting, but the prices are pretty high. I'll just stick to consoles for that shiz. Still plan on getting the Atari compilation though, as well as some of the other shiz mentioned here.
