What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

In the house, obviously. They will sleep outside to save space.

Nah I think they'd have like the inverse of as "typical" retro gamer's house. Instead of having a single "game room" in the basement the games would instead consume the house and the occupants would eat/sleep/live in a single basement room.

This is frighteningly likely.

:) Did some work with my uncle for about 4-5 hours, though shortly after we got there, he had to go to a doctor's appointment and was gone for most of the day.

:D I'm gonna work again tomorrow.

:( I think I got too much sun. I'm not sunburned by my skin does feel irritated.

:) But even if I don't work Friday, I'll probably be able to get enough money to have money to spare to get a 3-month Xbox Live Gold card.

:( I would have been able to get a one-month Gold membership from Bing Rewards or MediaInsiders, but I don't have enough points from either. And with my SmartApp account, I've accumulated $15 that I can get either put on my PayPal or as an Amazon Gift Card, but the PayPal options requires a cellphone (it needs to send a text message, cuz apparently fuck e-mail) and with Amazon, they don't sell one-month codes.

 WHY DOESN'T AMAZON SELL ONE-MONTH CODES?!?!

And this is why Xbox Gold and PS+ are terrible; they keep people from being able to save up money to move to NYC when the same set of features are available for free on PCs.

But then the kicker of big business keeping thos attempting to get to NYC down- PCs addict you to upgrading, which makes you poor in a different way.

 : My brother found his calculators the other day thank god. He had accidentally left them at our moms out of town luckily she found them before we confronted the guy who he thought had stolen them. So glad we didn't have to buy a new one again as well I'm still kind of ticked about the last one that got stolen.

:) : Some new houses popped up in my price range nearby and I found another riverfront property once again right by a park that I really like  . This one is actually cheaper then the previous one and is on the Ohio side so I wouldn't get stuck paying 1k+ in shitty city taxes each year like I would in Huntington. It's 2 bed 2 bath too which is exactly what I'm looking for since my brother will probably shack up with me while he finishes his final year of college.

Just hoping the required work needed on the house isn't to bad the roofs got issues. It doesn't look bad but there is one spot with a tarp over it. And in the pictures a section of the ceiling in one room has been removed so a new roof as well as water damage repairs for the attic and a few spots in the interior is a given. However as long as long as the house is structurally safe with a good foundation, and doesn't have any issues with the wiring/plumbing then I'll be all over it. Also has a fenced in back yard with a gate that leads right into the park :).

 : So over the last few weeks I've been hearing a mouse or something nearly every morning in the wall behind my bed. Initially I thought he was in my brothers old room which is directly above me, but today I got conformation that he is indeed within the floor/wall. Son of a bitch has chewed two small holes in the edge of the ceiling of my closet  . I set some good old fashioned traps up around the upstairs so hopefully the bastard meets his doom soon. Really don't want to use poison since I don't want a dead mouse in the wall. Disgustingly enough when I was crawling around in the attic earlier I found a half eaten bird so he is definitely getting around up there :P .

:? Dog is sick-ish. Gotta take her to the vet tomorrow. Nothing life-threatening or urgent, but something that does gotta get checked out :/

If anything, my inability to move to NYC is less the fault of Xbox Gold (and PS+, which I don't have since I don't have a PS3, PS4 or PS Vita) and more the fault of the shitty job market.

My boss at The Captain's Table is still not able to open for lunch, tanking my ability to feed myself without resorting to food stamps and borrowing money from my parents. None of the places I turned in applications have called me back, and AFAIK the Subway across the street's still hiring. If my mom can get me a job at her place (The Point), then I might be set, but she said the soonest they'd be looking to hire a dishwasher is still a few weeks off.

Combined with the fact that HB2 is nerfing and tanking tourism left and right, I'll be lucky to get ONE job, when I'll barely break even on just that AND still move to NYC in the fall.

So really, it's not my fault I'm still here. A job market where getting just one job is impossible, not to mentioned marred by the fact that around 90% of all jobs on the Outer Banks are seasonal, and throw the fact that even though every job I've had in the past 5 years has paid at least $9 (barely two bucks above minimum wage, which thanks to HB2 is stuck at the state's level, which in turn is stuck at the pitiful federal level of $7.25 despite the fact that pretty much every single economist of note has said the wages are too fucking low), one would wonder how anyone can leave?

And before you say anything, yes I have tons of shit to sell. But what I don't have is a chance in hell of being able to sell a huge bulk of it for a decent price, if at all.
