I watched Creed yesterday and it was a good movie! It was a nice change of pace from a lot of normal adult-oriented entertainment in that it was a coming of age movie with just a good moral. No sex, minor amounts of swearing, and not ultraviolent. Really enjoyed it. I've never seen a Rocky movie, so I'm not sure how it compares to those, but as a standalone film it succeeds!
I also enjoyed Creed, and have seen all the Rocky movies. It has a lot of similarities to the first Rocky. Some scenes and lines paid direct homage. Some complaints I read were that the movie was too similar or derivative.
I see it as a re-boot, a modernization of the Rocky series while also keeping the history intact and continuing the world.

I enjoyed it also, having seen all of them numerous times. I thought it was a dam good preformance by sly. To the poster that hadn't watched any of the rocky movies before, I recommend #2 as the best of the bunch. 1 was great also, but #2 just does it for me.
Alien Saga is a pretty nice 2 hour documentary that covers the first four Alien films. Spends some good time on each one and is pretty fair about each. Lots of special effect talk in there. Some neat interviews too.
Doesn't quite qualify as a movie, but I just knocked off DVD 1of2 for Record of the Lodoss War on my laptop here this evening. I haven't seen that in a good decade easily, truly good stuff.
