I have Double Dragon on NES and C64 and have always found it to be meh. Sounds like I need to try it on Atari 2600.

It's awesome. I was playing Double Dragon Advance yesterday, and I still love it. (HG101 lists that version as one of the very best video games, and I am inclined to agree.)

Double Dragon Advance is like an awesome combination of everything good the series did. It's a game that I wish I'd picked up back in the day.
Also, even though it's pretty different from Double Dragon proper, Neon is really, really good, especially at the higher difficulty levels.

I really dig Final Fight 3 best, glad I have that one. I can't say I find it inferior to the Streets of Rage line but FF2 is decent, better than 1 (home version) but not better than SoR in general.
DD though 1 I have a love for, 2 even more so play wise (though 1 in the music department) but the 3rd one is crap. DD Advance was fantastic, damn I wish I still had it, but it's one of those Atlus games that gets price trolled a bit.

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
I think a big reason why I like Streets of Rage a lot more is because the sprites are so much smaller than Final Fight. Does anyone ever consider this for games? I've never really had a preference for bigger sprites. It's pretty much why I detest Megaman 7. I guess it was cool at the time to see these bigger and more detailed characters on screen, but instead of that you could get a lot more mileage out of larger environments and more level.
Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
I get that, you get more room to move within the resolution limits. It's a huge problem on handheld games converted from console because most times the dumb dumbs won't scale things down from the 4:3 to 1:1 ratio or they keep the large sprites and it's all problems. The DKC "Land" converts or DKC1 on GBC is notorious for him filling too much area + consistent leaps of faith(death) until you learn where the ground/barrels are. Capcom did it as well with the horrid SFC to GBA conversion of Mega Man and Bass as the bosses fill up damn near like a quarter of the screen, good luck avoiding being run into let alone shot.
Small sprites help a lot as it just means more breathing room often enough, especially on a flat 2D plane as well.

Yeah I'm kind of bummed the Megaman & Bass Wii U release is the GBA version (the sound wasn't as good either), though I guess technically the SNES version never came out in the USA anyways. But it was much better.
All this is probably another reason I'm not huge on Metroid 2 either. It's like someone has the TV mode on ZOOM x2. lol
