Heh, I'm actually waiting for much later, but I figured I'd get the excitement going early. I just happen to like the initial research as much as the playing.

Just you wait for when I start talking about my October film marathon...in June.

So are most people here going to start when summer actually beginnings (sunshine, flowers, noiseredux busts out the speedo) or can we go by Ack's Georgian definition of summer (April through November) and start now? I think I can get rolling within a week or so.

I am starting early because I really want to play Final Fantasy Adventure. If I beat it before summer starts, I will replace it with another game. I will also play around a bit with a few of the other games on the list with the goal of "beating" them this summer. (For example, I am already practicing RayForce on my iPhone, and I may challenge my children to a couple rounds of Fighting Vipers this evening.)

I bought Crimson Peak on Blu-Ray yesterday. A neighbor also gave us a stack of grindhouse horror films a few weeks ago. (I have cool neighbors.) Finally, I have a small stack of horror DVDs lurking in my attic. I can't wait!

I'm gonna stagger things so I play Guardian Heroes the same time as the professional and Fire Emblem the same time as the British.

We should co-op it when I visit this summer. I'll pack a Saturn controller! :D

Hmm. I still need to play this too, maybe I'll join you on this one? I could swap out Gargoyle's Quest, or perhaps just add this as an 11th.

I intend to start about halfway through May and roll through til about mid september on this. I have a busy summer, so I like to start a little before the actual summer months

I plan on making this be my first big game to start, so get ready for that in mid may

It's fun. It plays like Link's Awakening with more RPG elements, more combat, fewer items, and drastically fewer puzzles. (I hope that makes sense.)

You should also play Gargoyle's Quest. It is one of the best GB games, and I highly recommend it.

Sounds good! I'll probably solo it earlier in the summer, but I'll make sure to keep my Saturn hooked up. You don't need to pack a controller buuuuut - I actually don't have two Saturn controllers - I have one controller and this. We can make it work.

I'll tell my daughter to make sure she's sleeping through the night by then.

And Final Fantasy Adventure is quite entertaining. It feels like a more primitive and less-refined Link's Awakening. Pretty impressive for a 1991 Game Boy ARPG. The first three Seiken Densetsu games comprise an essential "trilogy" within the entire series. Every subsequent game is substandard in comparison, though Children of Mana is admittedly a fun "mindless" type of dungeon crawler.

Listen to this man. He knows what's up.

I'm currently playing through Gargoyle's Quest 2 on Game Boy btw. It's not as good as the first but it's still pretty great.

How does this stack up to it?:

It is drastically more primitive than its remake...which I like about it. And, honestly, if I were going to play a remake today, I would play Adventures of Mana. Apparently, it tracks the original more closely, and it received great reviews.
