this is almost the same price I paid for my xbox 2 years ago and I did not get:
HDMI output
didnt get any game
100GB less in disk space

but the color is really bad

know what the funny thing is...ive had 4 xboxs and NEVER a redring...i wonder how people get them. I feel like im the only person that keeps it in a clean area with plenty of fresh air or soemthing.

Mine occurred when I pulled it out and took it onto campus to play VF5 in a clean, well maintained room. The sun could hit it, and the RROD has to do with heating and cooling of the unit. Mine might have been caused because of the sunshine.

I should of said a better darker red and more black would look better.

my friends and I bought 5 xboxes (1 for each), 4 of them failed.
The only surviving one is the one least played, I would say it is played only 5 hours a month or maybe less. I guess its a matter of time.

Mine red-ringed me when I was doing this download when the console is off(background downloading?) and I wanted the game cd so I hit EJECT. The rest is history.

I still feel like its something people do...considering how many we have had and never one single problem...ever...just seems odd.

you are just lucky, everyone I know who has 360 is on their second or third one. Be it hardcore gamers or people who play once a week. That's why I don't have one.

The red 360 doesn't look that good. Reminds me of the red psp. The PS3 looks great, very subtle very classy.
