Most impressive arcade port on the snes?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

the game is streetfighter alpha2.
the best port for me was probably un squadron as it actually had better graphics and sound than the arcade original.maybe just followed by the original streetfighter2 port,i paid £120 to get streetfighter2 imported from japan in 92 just when it first came out.was it worth it looking back DAMN RIGHT IT WAS...at the time anyway. :)
the legend will never die!

C'mon, Final Fight for the SNES was a shitty port. The game was totally stripped.

Why did most of the spites for arcade ports always have to be shruken down and have less detail or was snes not capable of handling spites that big or was the size of them just too big for snes carts or was it a combination of both?

As far as one of the worst ports art of fighting 2 was thought to be one of them.

For the time though even with the game stripped it was a impressive port.

I am going to have to go with Sunset Riders. While it did loose the fourplayer option, and some of the sprites and sound effects were modified. It still delivered the same game. Meaning, if you had memorized the timing in the arcade version, the SNES version was close enough that you were still quite good at it.

Many disagree but I still think it is the best. Now it was a rubbish Genesis port but thats neither here nor there.

If cart size was not an issue I wonder if the snes could handle all the large spites like the aracade game uses. They used pretty big ones in art of fighting but still a bit smaller then the aracde but then the animation was mad choppy.

I thought it was a great port till I played the Sega CD port which I thought was better...I mean come on? No two player mode and they cut out a few characters...not cool..

As stripped down as Final fight was on the SNES i still really enjoyed that game.

-No 2 player mode
-Girls turned into guys
-Missing Level and boss
-Bonus Level guy says "Oh my car" instead of "oh my god"
-No level intros like arcade
-Guy is missing
-Only up to 3 enemies on screen at once
-Graphics are not up to par w/ arcade
-Sound is not as good as arcade

I'm not sure if I am missing anything else
