It's actually not that applicable to the situation, but I wanted to let everyone know

That's a weird saying Erik Erik.

It sounds pretty similar to "Don't shit where you eat" for us.

Sure, but honestly, which would you prefer?

Also, I usually have my meals in pretty close proximity to my junk. If you have found a way to check it at the door...let me know.

@Noise - That was perfect.

Haha, it's actually super common in Spanish, at least around here.

Yeah, but it's not as fun. English Idioms are kind of boring in general. For example:

English:
"You reap what you sow": Makes sense, but is dull.

Improved Spanish version:
"Quien siembra vientos, recoge tempestades" (He who sows winds, reaps tempests)

Cool Spanish version:
"Cría cuervos y te sacarán los ojos" (Raise ravens and they'll take your eyes out)

I miss Spanish sayings and idioms a lot when speaking in English.

I get what you mean. I always thought of English as a functional language. It's not pretty, but it is quite direct. French, Spanish, and Italian are all beautiful languages. English? Not so much.

I love Spanish, however Korean is my favorite. Maybe it isn't beautiful, but I love the phonetics. English can be beautiful I think, just not as often.

Yeah, I find Korean and Japanese lovely due to the alternations of consonants and vowels and the way things are constructed. Mandarin...not as much. The tonal requirements make it harder for me to appreciate it as much, even if at times it can be quite pleasant.

I found learning Japanese for my last year in college was something special, so unique and different but the way it works grammatically makes more sense being fluid as it is, kanji and it's mystery intent, not so much.

Well, it is true it is a fairly functional language. There are many situations in which English uses a combination of words instead of a new word (Sledgehammer, as opposed to almádena) and there are very few synonyms compared to Romance languages (Sledgehammer = almádena, maza, comba, porra, etc.). There are also more verbs and they are often more specific (Eg. "Leer" and "gaze" are "mirar lascivamente" and "echar un vistazo" in Spanish, there's no single-word that means the same)

Of course, this is just my perspective, I'm not exactly unbiased

:D Racketboy's back online!

 Cold AF! In the low-50s, which feels like high-40s due to strong north winds (around 11-13 mph).

:D Found $70 on the bike path a few days ago!
