This is my all time favorite Game Boy game. So obviously I fully endorse you playing it this summer. It's a great start to a great trilogy.alienjesus wrote: 6. PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
Dude, NBA Jam is awesome. If you're going to play a version, make sure it's Tournament Edition. The PC version is nearly arcade perfect, but it might be easier to play on PS1 or Saturn. Those versions are probably all related to each other anyway.
Even though my favorite team is the Spurs, I always used the Charlotte Hornets in that game. The combo of Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson is tough to beat. Two fast power-dunkers with blocking capability. Not much outside shooting, but if you get on fire, it really doesn't matter!

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
I so want to participate, but I don't think I have enough truly classic games to fill out an entire list. You guys wanna help me?
Here are the games I own but haven't beaten yet. Bolded are the ones I think could count, but there are a lot of "maybe"s:
Thanks in advance for the assistance dudes. I know some of you really love the Annual Great List Debate. Go nuts!

The ones I've left in your quote are all worth your time. Not saying others in your list are bad or anything, it's just I've beaten these and would rate them well. Brawl is even fun single player if you do its Subspace Emissary mode. Metroid II is my least favorite 2D Metroid, but it's still well worth playing, especially if you play a colorized version of it to help with environment navigation. If you haven't beaten the original Zelda yet, then you bring shame upon your soul.Key-Glyph wrote: DOS:

If you have access to Tecmo Super Bowl, play that. It's amazing. My favorite football game of all time. The AI really cheats towards the end, though! Be ready on that reset button...
Best overall team in that game is probably the 49ers, although if you want to air it out, the Oilers are beast. Just make sure to pull Lorenzo White out of the lineup, he's a fumble machine. And I love the Chiefs because of Christian Okoye. The Giants have a heck of a defense and running game.
Also, the "Accuracy of Passing" and "Quickness" stats are useless. The accuracy and probability of a catch are both tied to "Pass Control", something I wish I'd known for years. It also means that John Elway sucks in this game.

I've played all of these games, and have beaten most of them. With that frame of reference, I arranged my opinions in your quote, with games for each system tiered greatest to least.strangenova wrote: NES:

Amazing how different opinions can be!
I think I like Vectorman better than the others, but then, I like Contra-style controls. I also happen to think the Genesis version of Aladdin is overrated. Still good, but overrated (yes, I like the SNES one). But definitely a classic, regardless. I don't know why I can't really get into Revenge of Shinobi, I've tried several times and tap out by the third stage.
My favorite NES games on that list are Zelda II and The Guardian Legend. I'd probably change my answer depending on what day you asked me.
Anyway, all of those are excellent choices. I have no quibble with them.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2016
Metroid will probably be the first one I go for, and zelda 2 will most likely be the last one. I don't like that game, but it's a tarnish on my personal gaming record that must be done.
