Tiduas wrote:Personally I think it's part of the fun to dig around a little sometimes. If one recognizes that the composer has to be Motoi Sakuraba for example, but don't know the song itself it's probably from a game that you haven't played but a list of Motoi's games could help out some. It adds another layer to the quiz in that it isn't only about having played the most games but also being able to listen to the music and being able to narrow down the possible answers.

Of course if the author of the quiz think this is cheating it is, I just wanted to pitch in my two cents on the matter. :)
Oh, that's interesting! For some reason I'd assumed that any kind of digging was disallowed on the other quizzes, and I thought I was following the model already put forth for consistency. I'll keep the rules as-is for this round simply because they've been stated, but for future quizzes I am 100% okay with allowing a little research!

Also, I think you guys are gonna be thrilled with your scores. Just sayin'.

Hey guys, I was considering extending the submission until Friday the 15th, 11:59 PM.

The reasoning is that I'm not sure how long Racketboy was down; I was having trouble accessing the boards for a day or more, so I thought it might have interfered with submissions.

So if you were on the fence about participating, the time is now! PM your answers!

Tiduas, did I miss your submission somewhere?

Well done to everyone!

I'm pretty chuffed with 15 considering I didn't research any of my answers :D

If no-one else has one of these planned, I can put one together for Monday.

I have a plan for a Game Boy edition!

Noooo, I missed out on this one, I really need to start using calender functions and stuff to remind me (or rather, stop waiting until the very last to send in my answers. I will improve, I promise).

Everyone sure got solid results though, I'm really impressed. I would probably have entered around last place IF I would have been on time. PresidentLeever scoring 29 is pure madness, were you by any chance a dedicated SEGA guy back in the days? :D

Wow, 15 for a Nintendo guy. I'll take it! I missed a few in-series, but the alphabet helped me nail one or two. Most of the ones I guessed on were right, though! All those years listening to remixes, although I'm still annoyed I missed guessing the wrong Ecco game. I love that tune.

Also, shouldn't M.U.S.H.A. technically come before Moonwalker? It's an abbreviation, but I don't know of what. It's the only reason I changed my guess to something else! ;)

(Yes, I am possibly being a grammatical pedant. No, I'm not asking for my score to be changed!)

No, I get you. I felt bad, because I realized after I'd published the files that this might trip people up.

But, in libraryland, we ignore punctuation and alphabetize like it doesn't exist. So M.U.S.H.A gets alphabetized as "Musha" instead. This is so that people don't scratch their heads over things like how to file or find a title beginning with a contraction (e.g. you don't file "I've" under "I have," because it is not intuitive and is more trouble than it's worth).

I did try my best to make it clear in the description, but forgive me. The librarian cannot help herself.
