I'm excited to have an excuse to finally play this one. I always wanted to.

crux wrote:I find Snatcher being on the list to be a strange choice. Not because the game is without merit but because of the rarity of the only official English translation (supposedly only a "couple of thousand units" were sold). It's easily in the top ten of my most expensive games - probably top five (which includes most of the rarer Saturn titles). I realize that the option of emulation exists, but I would assume there are others like me who choose not to emulate and who may, unlike me, not have the cash to throw down $100-130 on a single video game (and a light gun is nice too), never mind those that would need to acquire a Sega/Mega CD (and possibly Genesis/Mega Drive) on top of it. I totally advocate people playing it, but in terms of accessibility, a rare game for an unpopular add-on is pretty low on the list of accessible options.
I'm honestly really surprised this isn't a 5 or 10 dollar game on the DL services by now.

crux you bring up a valid point. I was hesitant about it as well, mainly since I do not want to shell out the money for a copy. However the participants of the first few Together Retros asked for it to be one of the titles, so we caved.

can't say i really love punchout- but i know it is a classic.

However, i am AMPED for the sega light gun mania. I think i suggested virtua cop way back when. I love light gun games and house of the dead is one of the best out there. I have confidential mission, but haven't cracked it yet. I'll save it. I hope that the galaga high score feature will carry over. I would love to compare scores.

Maybe a duckhunt/hogan's alley extra credit? Time crisis extra credit?

I've also been saving snatcher for a while. I cracked it but only played to the first gun battle. I'll save it.

I usually use FCEUltra on my PS2, but surprisingly MT Punch Out is running super-slow on it! I'll have to try it on a different PS2-NES Emu.

Surprisingly Punch-Out runs slow on FCEUltra, and Super Punch-Out runs slow on SNEStation. Weird. Were the games extra complex or something. I wonder why theyr'e so hard to emulate. Looks like I'll be stuck playing Power Punch II, haha.

I'm thinking about grabbing Animal Crossing for Gamecube so I can unlock PunchOut. I'm surprised there was no GBA re-release of Punch-Out! It was a pretty classic NES game. That's if we're going to even do a Together Retro this month?

Is Punch-Out going to include Super Punch-Out at all? Maybe I'll get Fight Night 2 for GCN since it has SPO as a bonus.

A suggestion: maybe Together Retro should last from the 1st of the month to the last of the month. That way it would just be easier for everyone to remember the schedule and stay on the same page?
