I grabbed a CIB copy of Metal Slug Anthology (PS2) this morning for $0.52(!), or roughly 1% of its market price. It completes my collection of SNK anthologies on the PS2, and I am very happy with my purchase.

Hardly anyone was outside due to the weather being a little chilly and overcast and the inside was a crap fest. The inside area has about 25 larger stalls/stores in it and there used to be 1 large stall devoted to games, a small one with alot of videos/electronics mixed in, and a few guys with games mixed in with regular stuff. Well now there are three large stalls solely dedicated to games and they are charging in most cases three times the online rate :P. So I ended up only picking up this gameboy color create a cover kit for $2 at one of the few outdoor stalls since it seemed like an oddball item I would never see again.

Never seen anything like that before. What an odd item.

Should be a law against reselling stolen rental storage property
Mentioned this the other day in the Neo Geo Thread, here are the pictures. Spotted at a Thrift Store, there is no way these retro gaming rarities were donated! I suspected this store sells stuff claimed from unpaid rental storage, now here is the proof. Pretty nasty business, taking possession of someone else's rare treasures especially if original owner! All the CIB boxes do allude to original owner. On top of that, the store runs EBay prices for the merchandise that were basically stolen. :x

Ooh this is sooo tempting, if only I had this kind of money to burn! Anyone got a $1000 dollars to spare? :?

Colecovision Trakball and 2600 adapter. There are Supervision game carts at the middle shelf and a CIB Lynx. The Supervision "Gameboy" is not displayed, maybe still in the back? Two Neo Geo boxes, games gotta be somewhere maybe PCBs inside one of the boxes? Hey there is a R.OB. at the far right along with CIB Vic20, 7800 and 5200 games!

2600 and TI-99/4a CIB carts and an obscure voice box for some other system. The highlight at the bottom are all the Vectrex goodies. I have three Vectrex units already along with 90% of the games CIB with color screens. That spare controller in the case is really teasing me.

Wow! CIB Vectrex 3D Imager and spare CIB Vectex controller. That controller almost worth snagging. Funny how the store placed the Vectrex on its side as a small portable 4:3 "CRT" TV.

Tempted to buy the Mega Key cart, but I think the region converter is only for PAL Sega Mega Drive consoles. :?:

Lets not make this old thread derail with ethics and the like.

just let me say this or we can start a new thread and we can discuss until lthe mods lock it.

There are laws already put in place.

Storage companies have the right to sell abandoned property if the renter doesn't pay up.

Public Notices are put up in the newspaper to give fair warnings about potential lost property.

Auctions are held at the day stated on said public notice, unless both parties renter and storager come into agreement.

Public auctions are held and its up to anyone to attend said places.

Hundred of sellers/re-auctioners/people constantly pursue said public notice ads and have hundreds if not thousands of dollars ready to buy up these old storages.

Its just came to be that your pictures of that stuff is now owned by that re-seller because he bid the highest in one of those said auctions.

The previous/original owner lost the ability to their property long before it was put up in said store.

Ever since storage wars and the other crap "reality" shows started airing storage auctions have become a complete circus and I highly recommend anyone who is interested to go in with a grain of salt. I've been to a few and I honestly at least in my general area think it is a complete waste of time sadly. People get really excited and way over bid. Plus at about every auction I've been to there have been signs that the auctioneers or business owners have gotten into the lockers before hand and cherry picked anything good as well as created mystery items by adding sheets or staging the locker in an effort to drive up bids. Had one auction where a few of the lockers had their contents described in the listing and yet the auctioneers added new locks which they then cut off in an effort to make people think they were being opened for the first time  . Big clues that someone has done this is if the locks on the locker look new, if all the lockers for sale have the same lock, and if there are pieces of the previous lock still laying around(most people don't bother picking them up) :P.

The cheapest I've ever seen a locker go in my area is probably $300 and that was for some moldy water damaged beds and chairs with one or two "MYSTERY!!!!" boxes in the corner.

Ever see someone at the flea market with bins just full of random junk? (and sometime retro games) They probably bought a storage locker to resell the junk at the flea market. Happens all the time, and we often make good finds from these people!

Yup them and American Pickers despite me enjoying watching these things (mostly pickers due to the old stuff/stories/history on it) have really screwed things up because everyone thinks their crap is worth a ton of cash and in turn when most people do, then it either becomes that or it just sits and rots. I find it harder by the year to locate antiques, old signs, vintage toys, etc without some twat using ebay (possibly even in front of me) at a flea market. Not going to happen, ever. If they wanted ebay they should put it on there and stay home, just as I'd rather not waste the nearly 30min drive (each way), gas and effort to see that either and could stay home too. Perhaps they realize they either do have crap, or they don't want the competition and do this, I don't know.

Can we get back to how AMAZING this is? Not only is that a good price for any CIB game, but such a damn amazing one at that.
