Well just like the topic says, why isn't there a write up for defining GB/GBC games? The original gameboy is probably the most important portable gaming system of all time, with so many great games in its library. The system gave birth to kirby, wario, pokemon and made tetris a household name.
Can we make this happen?

I am going to slightly de-rail this thread to pick Tanooki's brain on Gameboy knowledge. Sorry!
When I put an original Gameboy game in my GBA SP it doesn't take up the whole screen. What's up with that?

Use the L/R buttons to change the screen sizemarlowe221 wrote:I am going to slightly de-rail this thread to pick Tanooki's brain on Gameboy knowledge. Sorry!

Marlowe, try hitting the shoulder buttons on your gba.

Please don't, it ruins the graphics.samsonlonghair wrote:Marlowe, try hitting the shoulder buttons on your gba.

It's smaller because there's a resolution mismatch between the two systems. You can hit the shoulder buttons to stretch to fill the screen, but killing aspect ratio absolutely kills me. Your mileage may vary.
As far as GB/GBC goes, for the sake of consistency, it would be nice to have one.

I think the real crime here is that, with the exception of the "beginning guide," there;s no article on the Vectrex. That's downright offensive considering that it's the greatest console of all time.

I did not know that worked that way!samsonlonghair wrote:Marlowe, try hitting the shoulder buttons on your gba.
I have seen some really nice biverted, backlight modded original Gameboys online. It would be really cool to have one.Sarge wrote:It's smaller because there's a resolution mismatch between the two systems. I know there are people who frontlight mod the GBC but... I don't know.. it doesn't look that good in pictures/videos on the internet to me. On the other hand, if it is comparable to the frontlit GBA SP, which is what I have, then I guess it would be OK.

Different resolution/screen size -- as the others said L/R will stretch it out which you may like or not. I'm more of a fan than not as I don't like the empty space.marlowe221 wrote:I am going to slightly de-rail this thread to pick Tanooki's brain on Gameboy knowledge. Sorry!
