Oh make no mistake - I'll be getting it.
Kinda sad I now have to change the "joke" in my Steam profile.

I want this but mixed reviews on Steam is typically a pretty bad sign...
What's the main complaint? My guess would be poor support for the paddle games would be one thing.

I found this video on YouTube today that dates to sometime around late 1982-early 1983 that was a company profile on Imagic and much of it follows the development of the game Atlantis. It also foreshadows the early throes of the '83 crash as well as mentions the idea for the unreleased 2600 game Sky Patrol.

Re: Second Generation Appreciation Thread
So my family is picking up one of these for me for Christmas:

I'm pretty excited about the SD card slot. My 2600 Jr. is in need of a little work and I'm hopeless with that kind of thing so this will be a suitable replacement for my Atari quick fix.
Of course it's still AtGames so it's not a 100% compatible clone though from what I've been told it's at least new purpose-made hardware and not a GOAC running an Atari emulator like some prior flashbacks. The folks over at Atari Age have been compiling a compatibility list which will help sort out what games I want to put on it. Most of the issues come with games that use specific hardware tricks or extra chips like Pitfall II. There are a few oddities though like Berzerk which apparently has control issues though some Berzerk hacks that are functionally the same game (like the one that swaps the sound effects for Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto) work fine. There are a lot of other great hacks and homebrews that work on it.
They pretty cleverly re-purposed the Genesis handheld shells with the button layout being set to the hardware switches. I also don't personally mind the layout because my preferred method of playing Atari 2600 games has been a Genesis controller for years anyway. I'm otherwise not a big fan of it's very non-Atari look though (black with a red fire button is fine I guess, at least they tried that much). I'm thinking of putting some wood grain contact paper over the glossy black part around the screen. I think that would get the point across better.

Holy crap I haven't seen that yet!
Re: Second Generation Appreciation Thread
That looks neat. Does it come with an SD card with those games listed? Or are they baked in?
