I disagree:


You just have to make sure you kill enough shopkeepers to cover the damage you take robbing the store. That and be quick with that shotty. Dark stages are my least favorite part of the game. I should have gone to the worm...

I had my best run by far tonight.

Had 6 health through 2 stages. Bought myself a kiss on 1-3. Entered 1-4 with 7 health and was feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good. About 10 secs in got bumped by a bat, knocked me off the edge, fell on spikes. /run

Super super aggravating.

Can you kill the Huge spider? I hit him w/whip prob 4-5 times before he finally sapped my last heart (in main adventure).

bombs or shotgun is best way. Jumping on him repeatedly is more effective than whip, especially with spiked boots. But he's a jerk for sure.

Best bet with a huge spider is to toss a bomb into the spider webs below, it will stick there long enough to do the job. Barring that get above him and bounce off his head. Prolly should just run though if you don't have the shotty.
