You are so totally right! It is most certainly not for SNES! I must've been confusing it and Rockman Soccer I guess, unless I've just begun hallucinating Xp

NAWT AH FAN OF ELMER DOCTO WIGHT?
Mega Man 8's heart is in the right place. It's a happy and colorful anniversary celebration but they took the design in some strange directions with silly puzzles and the JUMP, JUMP, SLIDE, SLIDE segments. Those who haven't played it don't know what that means but I just PTSD triggered the rest of you.
I don't really hate any of the classic series games but I only love the 8-bit ones (including the faux 8-bit 9 and 10).

A fan of MM8 here, but:
So true

My SNES is neglected currently in favor of my Wii-U at the moment.

Between that, the level design, the boss design, and the voice acting...Mega Man 8 never had a chance, and I loathe it. I'd rather play ANY other original series entry than it.

Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
I can see that I'm in the minority here, but I love megaman 8. The art style gets me drawn in, then the sound effects just elevate its charm. I like the level gimmicks for the most part, and I think everyone is far and away exaggerating the snowboarding sequences.
The boss weapons felt useful for exploration for the first time in a long time. Also the bolt system has meaning here other than just using them to buy up E tanks like in 7. I enjoy trying to gather all the bolts up so I can buy weapon upgrades.
The voice acting is terrible and the rush adapters don't seem to be as useful as past games but overall it's a good game for the series.

The snowboarding part is only one part, but it's not what I consider the worst. Clown Man is the worst. That level is the equivalent of Mega Man busting into a 6-year-old's room just to kick him in the nuts.
God, I hate Clown Man.

Clown man is always my first order of business in megaman 8 and I enjoy the stage, but I probably just like it because of all the robot master toys laying around the stage.Ack wrote:strangenova wrote:I can see that I'm in the minority here, but I love megaman 8.
