That's the weirdest thing about Mega Man 7. They designed it like a Game Boy game with the same sprite-to-screen ratio and not having access to all 8 bosses from the start. I don't really know what they were thinking there.

I won't talk about X6 again other than to say it's an abomination of improper game design. If there is a hell for video games it belongs there.

I'm sure people are right about X7 being worse but I can't be bothered to acknowledge it exists.

I think X6 has some things going for it, although I can't deny the shoddy level design. The music really stands out: https://youtu.be/KjSfq2F_7MY

The reploid collection and parts system was also very well done, especially compared to X5's system. The bosses are for the most part memorable and enjoyable. Sigma however was lackluster and tacked on for no other reason than just to have sigma in the game. He was so good in X4 and X5!

Mega Man 7 is a bit of an odd duck, but it is far better than Mega Man 8, which was horrendous in my opinion.

It's odd sure, but I liked it greatly more than X2 and X3 which everyone seems to enjoy me-too sucking up to. I really didn't care if it went all gameboy with the split boss screens, didn't bother me in the least bit. It was the only tough one to let go of when I parted off some stuff in the last couple years.

Glad to see some many Mega Man veterans here. So apparently (from general concensus), I've already played the best that the X series has to offer (X,X2,X4,and X5).
I'll still try the others sometime, but I've sated my Mega Man craving for the moment.

I think I'll take MrPopo's rec and start Lufia sometime soon (when work isn't killing me). I tried playing it back in the day and got stuck very early on. Liked it otherwise though, and looking forward to it. Hoping my battery is still good, but I can replace it if necessary.

Good idea. I'm looking to start playing my copy of Lufia & The Fortress of Doom on Friday.

Also, any thoughts on Mega Man Soccer? I'm rubbish at it.

Is Megaman soccer the same thing as Rock Man Dash!!? It's a game that I've never gotten to looking up, but got interested in the other day when I saw that it's not just on SNES, but N64 as well O.o

That's the Japanese name for Megaman Legends. It's available on Ps1 and N64, where it's called megaman 64. I have no clue what differences there might be though. I've only played the first one for ps1
