On the other, FLCL aired from 2000-2001, 15-16 years ago. Is there a much of a chance these new seasons will live up to the original six episodes? I want to believe, but I don't.

I loooove FLCL but I'm with you. I'm inclined to stay away.

If Toonami wants to resurrect a dead Gainax show, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt would be a much better choice. It's much more recent, and the one season ended on a cliffhanger, setting it up for the second season that never came. FLCL wrapped everything up by the end, so I have no idea what two more seasons could even be about.

It'd probably have to air censored, but yeah, seems like a more natural fit.

I plan to buy the Discotek releases sometime this year. I watched 5 episodes back in the day with good subs (not the HK's haha), and it seems like one of the best super robot shows. The blueprints for Megaman are so obvious! I've seen Mazinkaiser and Shin Mazinger as well, so already know a lot of the characters. Ashura is amazing. Looking forward to it!

I suppose so. I remember the localized stuff as a really little kid being on TV in the early 80s about the time Starblazers and Speed Racer ran on network tv. I'd watch some of it again. Maybe 10 years back I got some probably oversized capsule toy of the character on a little tan/orange circular rocky platform with the big bot on it with arms that can swivel and it has this cool double sided scythe with some clear blue glow on it I have sitting on my desk.

Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans just ended it's first season after 25 episodes. Didn't care much for the last few episodes, but overall it's been one of the best Gundam shows in the past few years. Politics just got kind of heavy near the end and bogged things down a bit although there was plenty of action going on. Final battle was also a little disappointing since they kept cutting to other scenes which made it feel really short and choppy.

Looks like there is going to be a second season coming in October which should be interesting since this season had a pretty solid conclusion. I'm a big fan of the space battles and season 2 should have them at mars or traveling back so I'm looking forward to it.

Edit:
Also just finished Dimension W. Things got a little crazy at the end and I really didn't think they were going to be able to come to a conclusion that made any sense, but they pulled it off somehow. Still somethings that I feel could have been fleshed out a bit more but the ending was solid and quite satisfying. Also left plenty of room for a season 2 which has a good possibility of happening given the shows had a seemingly good run so far.

Fragems, think you just killed that one for me. I was a fan of both Code Geass and Gundam 00, until the second seasons happened that clearly had completely different staff behind them or something. The directions and turns those seasons went were straight down the crapper. I haven't liked the idea of Sunrise split seasons since then...

It actually has a really solid conclusion surprised the hell out of me that there was a Season 2 announcement at the end.

As long as they don't pull an Aldnoah Zero 2 on me I'll be happy. God I loved that show and season 1 was almost perfect but then season 2 just shit all over everything especially with that ending  .

Aika Zero

Finished this 3 episode OVA off last night. It serves as a continuation of Aika R-16 and continues as a prequel to Agent Aika. I enjoyed Zero more than R-16, as Zero focused more on action and aliens. Really though the Aika franchise is known for one thing; constant ecchi pantsu shots all day every day. This franchise is best in class on that front. However, if you're looking for something more substantial than pretty girls beating each other up with their undergarments front and center, forget it. This is low brow fun food for perverts, and proud of it.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
