Re: The Transfomers thread!!
Had to bump this. I just picked up the Jpn version of megatron g1 reissue Classic in box complete. Ended up using all my credit from my store for 75.00 but it was worth it.
I've been wanting this toy since 1984. Only 1 friend had him and he didn't even like transformers. It's an exact replica. Looks so real like a gun but as a robot nothing like the cartoon. Ohh well I finally got him. He's going right next to Optimus prime in my game room.
Now all I want left is soundwave, starscream, thundercracker, and a few autobots like wheel jack, and bumble bee, cliffjumper, ironhide, and lastly devestator

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
Have any of you guys played the new Platinum Games developed game? It's apparently really good and looks awesome. More G1 goodness.
Re: The Transfomers thread!!
I've read a lot of bad reviews of it, not just media but owners saying that it's fanboy fare, but unless you're maybe bordering on beer goggles with the fan love of G1 the problems of the game will wear thin on you. I was interested, now I'm wondering if I watch this year at the flea to see if it randomly pops up on PS4 on some table for $10. Supposedly the camera I think had a problem, the enemies blow, the bosses are overly hard, cheap and narrow on how to stomp them and even then it could fail making the game fury inducing.
I had no idea this thread existed. This year right after the new year I went into the local half price books, and was mind blown seeing something I hadn't seen in over 25 years -- complete in box original Transformers. They had 3, but what got me was the Autobot -- Jazz, I had it as a kid. They wanted $50 which I didn't know at the time was decent, so I floundered, but remembered I earned a 25% discount so I snagged it. It re-started an interest in robot toys. Anything below I'll say that I've been shrewd/lucky getting them as I've paid like 25-33%+ less than the going rate on every one of them probably the best getting Grand Slam and Rain Dance (that form Slam Dance) for 1/2 off.
Since then I went on a rampage a bit off/on-line on certain ones thankfully exhausting paypal, not my budget, and I took a few angles with it. At first I wanted to recover the big one I had as a kid - Optimus Prime, got one, complete (no box) and from there I kind of went digging. One thing I've hesitated for years on was Robotech, had a Valkyrie stolen from me in a move in 89, so I figured why not kill 2 in one shot -- bagged Jetfire with full armor and gun clip.
From there I ended up going after the Decepticons a bit, had to get their #1 (Megatron) and #2(Starscream) of course -- Megatron is pre-orange cap 100% with gun stock and Starscream on a fluke I nailed down complete in box well under value. Also ended up getting on or offline others -- TopSpin, Twin Twist, Overdrive, Astrotrain, 3 insecticons, Thrust(no missiles), Cliffjumper, Outback(no gun), and warpath. ...and the other day I just got Punch/Counterpunch complete in the mail too.
While that last one isn't pictured, the rest are here if anyone is curious for a flashback: http://s232.photobucket.com/user/tanook ... ansformers
Or a simple text list with no pictures -- http://tanooki.byethost16.com/transformers.html
I almost had Mirage the other day the other autobot I remember having distinctly as a kid but it broke in half in the mail.
When I get these things I almost won't buy them unless they have all their accessories just because of the annoying prices on much of the guns and other bits many of them demand like Thrust...$10 a missile (and 4 to his set) hell no. I also realized in the day my mom must have confused the competition (Gobots) with Transformers as I remember having some of those too and I've ended up picking up a few of those locally as I find them as well.
I'm debating getting that Matrix (25th Anniv) box set of the DVDs for the cartoon, but I keep waffling because I don't know if I'd make/find the time to watch a 4 year long TV series.

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
See I would love to start collecting transformers but I will really be broke lol. Like I mentioned I want maybe 7 or 8 more.
Starscream
Soundwave
Hound
Jazz
Astrotrain
Ironhide
Brawn
Bumble bee
Devestator
It will take time and money to get them
I also need parts for my ultra Magnus. One large fist, one missle launcher and missle, and 2 small fist for the white Optimus prime

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
I've got starscream complete box too and astrotrain complete with the manual at least.
The parts are what kick your ass, not even buying them up front as it's cheaper that way with the toy, it's the after...a damn joke wanting like $5-20/pc for each piece of missing plastic.
EDITED this partI'm selling a few I've got, a set of 3 re-issue insecticons as I just want original stuff, and then I have this set of tapes -- Grand Slam and Rain Dance (which form to make Slam Dance) in excellent shape with all 5 gun pieces and the two tech cards as well. I've realized I just have no interest in tapes or the tape decks either as I've waffled for a month or more getting Blaster so I just don't care. Rather dump that and get Mirage since I had the mean tease of it broken in the mail a couple weeks back.
Going forward unless I see something irresistible online I'm going to just take it easy and see what I can dig up locally, same with Gobots too. It's just more fun that way not taking the easy way out idling on ebay.

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
Just got soundwave with buzz saw. Only buzz saw is missing his middles but soundwave is complete. I have on hold right now
Blitzwing
Ratchet
Cliffjumper
And for the life of I always forget his name but it's sideswipe. There going to cost me about 30.00.
I might have to stop collecting this stuff. It's a lot of money for g1 transformers weither it's a re issue of not to me it doesn't matter. These toys are almost addicting as collecting video games. For me I really don't want to make a hobby out of it and fall back into a death trap. I don't know how people can collect toys and video games at the same time.
Imagine someone who is looking for g1 original complete transformers and collects snes and GameCube? Yikes.
Anyways I'm happy I got him. After I pick up the other 3 I'd say I'm done for a while unless I see g1 toys for a dollar or I win the lottery. I almost was going to trade some games in for credit to buy some more g1 toys. Then I came into reality lol. That would of been stupid lol

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
I've got Cliffjumper, been just not pulling the trigger yet on it but I do want Blitzwing as I like the triple changer Astrotrain I have
Hoping this weekend with the warmth I'll have a sliver of a chance to find another transformer but you just never know with flea markets.
I'm surprised you could get all those you listed for $30, I'd be game for that as the re-issues are the same they just get one added line of branding in the metal that says China 2015 on them. And oddly probably fans, they retain like most the value of the originals as far as a loose/loose complete toy goes. It's the box alone that'll kick your ass on a reissue vs original and I don't buy them though I do have 2 out of just dumb luck (Jazz and Starscream.)
I agree there's a fun addiction to it, but I also oddly find them in a warped way a little bit like Lego because they're relaxing to tinker with and transform, almost like a good release to chill out to.

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
The transformers are loose and not complete for the most part. I traded in some games that I'll never play and the rest of my n64 games games in order to get these guys
Sideswipe loose
Ratchet loose
Cliffjumper
Blitzwing loose
Ramjet complete
Preceptor complete
They look cool but on my way to work for some reason I'm a little sick of the credit I got and spent for these toys. It's cool to have them but it's not like playing a game.

Re: The Transfomers thread!!
Eh I can see your point especially I suppose because they don't have all their expensive little weapons and yeah you can't play with them like a game either. Then again a game you can get free many ways, those you can't.
