Re: Awesome things you did in games while ignoring the games
My sister and I would play a lot of Mario Kart: Double Dash when we were kids, so after we played a ton of races and battles against each other, one of us had the idea to do battles on the normal race tracks.
It's not like we would keep track of who was winning or not, but it was still fun to drive around and throw shells at each other. Once of the times we did this, I found a little secret area on the Yoshi track so that was neat. Not sure why it was there though since it would not help in a race ha.

In the old 16-bit Acclaim wrestling games, my brother and I would just beat the referee until he left the ring.

Haha the old wrestling games were great for just messing around. Setting up crazy rule sets and just beating continually until your characters were useless.
I miss those. The N64 titles were great, the acclaim ones were ok, Fire Pro was amazing and the Smackdown titles weren't the best but had cool careers and backstage elements. Are there any good wrestling games in the last 5 years?

Wait, what? Which games was this possible in? Not beating him up, but the ref leaving the ring part.prfsnl_gmr wrote:In the old 16-bit Acclaim wrestling games, my brother and I would just beat the referee until he left the ring.

the character creators make them worthwhile imo but I'm pretty easily pleased when it comes to things like that... check out this zorotl (eiffel 65 alien) one dude made:flash1987 wrote:Haha the old wrestling games were great for just messing around. First game that comes to mind is Driver. All three of the first Driver games actually. Never played the main story, normally just drove around looking for secrets and doing police chases.

My experience starting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was like that. When the game started and they gave me a bike, I actually maxed out my bike riding skill before starting the first mission of the game.whitewolfarctic wrote:First game that comes to mind is Driver. And then I found the riding lawnmower... Guess what became my drive-by vehicle of choice. A hail of bullets AND a perfectly manicured lawn, bitches!

^Yeah, the lawnmower was the funniest drive-by vehicle in the game. Used to love just driving down the highways.
That was my favorite GTA game. I just spent most of my time with it doing nothing. Couldn't really do that with the others or I would get bored.

Same. I also was particularly fond of stealing jet liners and then crashing them off the Las Vegas-style strip whenever Free Bird came on the radio.whitewolfarctic wrote:^Yeah, the lawnmower was the funniest drive-by vehicle in the game. Used to love just driving down the highways.

'Cause I'm an asshole.

y'all need to check out GTA5 when you can. I had way more fun just exploring aimlessly and "doing nothing" than playing the game proper. Los Santos is HUGE and there is just so much to see and so much stupid shit to try.
