Personally, I'm less concerned with what the president can accomplish...due to congress being a huge hindrance in that. I'm far more concerned with what the president stands for. I don't want our country to be associated with the vitriol that Trump spews. I could see his ignorant mouth getting us into another war without a doubt.

Bernie might not win, and he might not accomplish anything he stands for...but at least the world would know we want to be progressive as a country. That we are looking to make change and see our faults and try to correct them. I think we live in a great country and I think Trump (and what he stands for) is not a proper representative of that.

You do realize we are the only nation in the world - 1 out of 196; where many people actually are more concerned about how we present abroad - than taking care of strictly domestic issues.

The idea that a more nationalist driven leader means we would get into a war "without a doubt" is a new type of fear mongering. The majority of Presidents / PM's in the world are nationalist - it is only in this country where we've turned that into a negative. This is another reason why Trump is so appealing to many voters. He isn't running for President of NATO, president of the UN, president of Mexico, president of the Middle East. He's running for President of USA.

On one hand the liberal agenda would like us to stop being the world's policeman. Yet in the same vein, we have to make sure the rest of the world likes our president.

Do you think the Bolivians, Venezuelans, Russians, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc an etc care if the Americans approve of who they elected? Not at all. Not for a second. Part of not being the world's moral compass and supercop is to stop worrying about electing someone who fills those two needs.
It isn't that he is a "nationalist driven leader" it's that he openly feuds with and childishly demeans anyone that disagrees with him.

I'm concerned with presenting ourselves to the whole world as bigots and bullies. I think we all should be, it doesn't mean I want to police them. I don't care how other countries want to be perceived, if I lived in them and paid taxes I might.

It seems you assume that I am against Trump because he is Republican or because he has some sort of policy I disagree with, I am against Trump because he is completely unfit to be in office. Both as a politician and (it seems) as a human being. His history with questionable ethics, possible rape, continued public outbursts, and his pension for being a hot head make him a terrible candidate for president. I believe he would either incite a war with his big mouth or start it himself. No fear mongering intended, I don't trust the man.

I'm not vilifying a conservative agenda. I am saying Trump is a joke that has become a serious threat. I'd be less concerned if "Deez Nuts" would have made this much headway.

EDIT: I forgot to point out that the "I could see" statement was just a matter of opinion, even though it was poorly phrased by ending "without a doubt". I am personally concerned that his taking office would be a tragedy, not literally positive he will cause a war.

Hey how about that voter suppression and election fraud happening down in Arizona. It's legal to do so now, with the repeal of the Voting Rights Act by the Supreme Court in 2013. 5 hours to exercise your right to vote. Meanwhile the Democratic Race called for Hillary and Republican Race called for Trump while thousands of people across the state were still waiting in line. People's party affiliation magically changing once they arrived to the polls, finding out they changed from Democratic to Independent, and handed provisional ballots.

Seems a bit sketch.

Stepping away from US election news for the moment...

Radovan Karadzic has been found guilty of 10 of the 11 charges brought against him for his role in the genocide of Bosnian men and boys during the Bosnian War, specifically for his involvement in massacres in Srebrenica in July, 1995. Karadzic's sentence is 40 years in prison, which will likely translate to a life sentence for the 70-year-old.

This is a useful website app for making side-by-side comparisons of candidates (for all parties) to see where they stand on the issues:

Since my personal choice has narrowed to being between Bernie and Hillary, I also found this article to be useful for distinguishing between these two candidates:

The only way it seems for the Balkans to move forward is to be integrated into the European project, get people busy with building their countries rather than brooding on nationalist bullshit, but with the latest troubles be it the migrant crisis or the Brexit this seems to be in danger.

So Trump hired a thug as a campaign manager. All those people vying for power are cutthroat scum.
