I finally found the answer! And it's "open source", too! I'm not sure I have the skills to put it together, but it's promising.

Haha... we had a huge discussion on this about a week ago. Someone on the board tested out the process with success

Sounds like a nice fix. Maybe I will try this with my snes.

Nice. Glad to see old consoles looking the same way they did when purchased. ( looks at jet black Genesis :D )

Fortunately I got a late model snes (not the small one just a late one) and the only thing that has faded at all is the plastic covering of the controller sockets. Top and bottom are still grey after 12 years.

I ended up replacing my SNES with a custom painted one. That thing isn't discoloring any time soon.

Wow, that's excellent. My SNES actually turned yellow way before I was done playing with it as a kid, and I always wondered how the hell that happened. I may have to see about this treatment, although since getting a retro-duo, it's not as urgent as it once was.

Still, glad it see there is finally a fix!
