Pokken Tournament
Re: Pokken Tournament
My copy came today and I got to give it a brief play through this evening. It's a fun game!
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360
Re: Pokken Tournament
I'm still debating getting the controller. $25 seems a little high for a controller that's basically a simplified Pro Controller that only works in one game. Do you think the price might go down because no one buys it or up because they only make one wave and they all sell out? It's made by Hori, not Nintendo.

Haha not much to tell. Other than I was bitterly disappointed to see there was only a few Pokemon to choose from and, me being someone who only really knows Red and Blue, I don't know who 90% of them are.strangenova wrote:Aww man give me the juicy details, I gotta wait til Friday to pick up my copy.Reprise wrote:My copy came today and I got to give it a brief play through this evening. It is what it is though. A fun, accessible 3D fighter that should appeal to casual and hardcore audiences alike. I like how it switches between the two play styles which require different strategies and it constantly changes between the two. It's kinda a weird fighting game. It's not really like anything much I've played before, not that it's amazingly original, but
Now just release some more Pokemon as DLC... Damn you, Nintendo. You've got me hooked and willing to throw money at more characters to play as.

Yeah I read fourteen characters and that seems like a shallow number when you have hundreds of pokemon to choose from, but if each character is different enough and the mechanics are solid then I don't care about how any choices I have. Besides this game is going to sell well enough to warrant at least a few dlc pokemon.Reprise wrote:Haha not much to tell. Hopefully it will sell well enough to show Nintendo the potential of a full 3D console Pokemon RPG.strangenova wrote:Besides this game is going to sell well enough to warrant at least a few dlc pokemon.

If Nintendo doesn't release one on the NX, then they're insane.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Hopefully it will sell well enough to show Nintendo the potential of a full 3D console Pokemon RPG.strangenova wrote:Besides this game is going to sell well enough to warrant at least a few dlc pokemon.

Re: Pokken Tournament
I doubt they ever will, they like it on handhelds. Pokemon stadium and pokemon snap were two of the best selling n64 games and that was three generations ago, still no console rpg.Reprise wrote:If Nintendo doesn't release one on the NX, then they're insane.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Hopefully it will sell well enough to show Nintendo the potential of a full 3D console Pokemon RPG.strangenova wrote:Besides this game is going to sell well enough to warrant at least a few dlc pokemon.
I can't fathom what the reason would be to keep it on handheld when they know everything pokemon sells. Like seriously it could be a launch title for the nx and millions would buy it.

Since the NX is rumored to be some bizarre (and probably awkward) console/handheld hybrid, maybe there's hope.strangenova wrote:Like seriously it could be a launch title for the nx and millions would buy it.

Is it just me, or does that sound like a handheld console with a TV dock?ElkinFencer10 wrote:Since the NX is rumored to be some bizarre (and probably awkward) console/handheld hybrid, maybe there's hope.strangenova wrote:Like seriously it could be a launch title for the nx and millions would buy it.
