Hm...
There were the Zelda preorder bonus discs for the Gamecube, one with Ocarina of Time and the Master Quest version of it. The other with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (and the NES games).
Panzer Dragoon Orta included Panzer Dragoon as an unlockable bonus.
Japan got a fair number of Saturn games ported to the PS2 with the Sega Ages 2500 series as well.
Dead or Alive Ultimate for XBox is probably closer to the modern take on HD collections, porting DOA and DOA2 to the DOA3 engine and rolling in bonus materials.
Tomb Raider Anniversary falls into a similar category.
Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Probably several if you count DC to others as a port - RE: Code Veronica, Crazy Taxi, Ikaruga, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, etc.

Doshin the Giant
N64DD --> Gamecube
N64DD --> Gamecube
Re: 5th gen games with 6th gen releases/ports?
Agreed, can't believe I didn't post that as I have one of those Freeloader discs so I can run that on my Gamecube. Though more of a generational jump than one, I do have 2 of the 4 Hudson Select packages on GC too PC Genjin(Bonk's Adventure) and Star Solider which are just the old nes games extremely well prettied up.samsonlonghair wrote:Doshin the Giant

Re: 5th gen games with 6th gen releases/ports?
Dag nabbit why didn't I think of that. I've got Bangaioh for N64, had it for DC back in the day when it was new too. I still think it's my favorite Treasure game though Sin & Punishment which I have too is good (I never got into Gunstar Heroes.)
By the way two things... That Zelda gamecube disc of the N64 release wasn't upgraded really, just ran in 480p emulated.
And...since Animal Crossing was brought up. While not the best fit Cubivore on the Gamecube was very far along toward completion for the N64DD in Japan but was lifted and moved keeping the art style to be 'artsy' instead of re-doing it on Gamecube. And as such NOA scoffed at it thinking people wouldn't want it, so Atlus did their usual limited release of the game which is why it's expensive now. Shame too as it's fantastic and too bad they didn't do the same with Doshin.

I believe the OoT/Master Quest set ran at a very slightly better framerate, but I'm not sure about the Zelda Collection that had OoT/MM.
A lot of what isiolia mentions are actual remakes, but I was just thinking of upscales/ports basically.
