I messed around with HLTB a little bit, but I didn't like the interface as much for tracking my collection, and it doesn't have as many platform options as Backloggery. Backloggery isn't perfect by any means, but I prefer the options it gives me.
Backloggery would be nicer if they had a actual database of games that exist on it(and to detect when I'm about to input something that's close to a duplicate  ).

Finally got around to playing Dragon's Crown for the first time tonight. A game I've been meaning to play since release (I even double dipped, got it on Vita and PS3). My wife and I started co-op'ing it. I think she likes it, I kinda... love it. I mean, it's like the D&D arcade games (my all time favorite arcade games) with a meaningful RPG system built on top. I think we might be playing this one for a while. Even if she doesn't... I will.

See, what I like about it is the lack of a database. It just feels like there's more freedom. I know I could just add whatever game to the database, but for some reason (completely irrational, I know, but I'm weird like that), a database bugs me.

In the case of HLTB; a lot of people don't seem to understand that with HLTB, you can add a game to the database if it's not already there. Many times I've beaten an obscure game and added it myself. Sometimes I just put the name of the game and the year, and volunteers come by later and fill in the nitty gritty details. HLTB has a great community.

Poking around the internet and found this list of Top 25 Genesis games of all-time. This is the worst list of anything I've ever seen.

I don't get the issue, most of the games on that list are fantastic?

Oh no there are certainly some great choices there but I'm not saying the whole list is bunk, just a good portion of it. The list below is much closer in my opinion, but it's still missing some IMO.

I think both those lists have some really odd choices. Ah, subjectivity.

Samurai Shodown for the #2 spot is a pretty bold choice, admittedly. Likewise, the list really should include Shadow Blasters and Sword of Sodan.

Glad to see someone around here loves Dragon's Crown, Ex. I was also a huge fan when it came out. I figured a game originally made for the Dreamcast finally getting a release would have gone over well here, but alas.
