And it might not be anytime soon...if I can ever finish pokemon yellow I want to play something that has a quirky story(similar to say any mario rpg's or such) or super short. I'm a little tired of attempting games that are so long(even if I do want to finish them). I just want something with a little more of a developed story than the one of the first jrpg's >_>

I'll play and beat it eventually just not today

Eh, no reason to be. Just don't buy many more games for the time being, and start playing what you own. You can knock out a good chunk of stuff in any one year. It's only daunting because you think it is.

Hard not to buy stuff though :lol: i still have a good chunk of stuff that I really want that i haven't laid my hands on. I know for any given system especially prior to gamecube(in release dates with how i have it organized). I don't have a lot of essentials or main titles I wish I had(geni/master is really bad for this since I know absolutely nothing about it besides sonic's and phantasy star and that's about it). I know I should stuff so I can focus on beating what I have but I also want some more noteworthy titles to finish out my collection for now...

I gave up on getting through my backlog. Collecting makes me happy, so I've stopped letting myself care if I beat or even play all of my games. If I play them, awesome; if I don't, then there's always something new to play.

Pretty much this. I'm at peace with the fact I'll never, ever finish my backlog. So it's not a backlog. What I call my backlog is really just my recent backlog, a rolling window that changes based on what I've picked up or played recently.
