haha. I feel like I was the same way. But the thing is, I kept saying "well I'm sure sometime before now and release they'll tell us like... what we do in the game or why we'd want to keep playing!," but now that they've announced a release date we still don't really know anything. Which isn't super reassuring.

Air Combat was one of my first PS1 games and I'm still a pretty big fan of the series.

The last one I actually played was 6 though.

I hear good things about that 3DS one's "Plus" release. Assault Horizon?

Yep, this is the one I plan to start tonight. It's a remake of Ace Combat 2.

I have beaten all the PS2 entries and also Ace Combat 6 on 360. I enjoy the series. I just realized today, that I couldn't recall anyone on this forum ever talking about them is all.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

I'll talk about them. They are all OK, and each time I play one I think that I would rather be playing something else. (I am not a huge fan of air combat/flight simulators.)

I feel like I knew enough about the game already to wanna buy it. You fly around outer space and find/explore new planets. Maybe I'm just the right type of person where that's enough for me. Sometimes when I'm outside smoking a cig at night, on a clear night, I'll stare at the stars and just get lost in the thought of possibilities.

But yeah, now you all are making me have doubt. And I was so excited to find out it was being released on GoG!

If it looks like it appeals to you, then don't let that get you down! I like lots of stuff folks here don't. At least that's how it feels sometimes. :)

I'd wait for some reviews, but only you can know if the game aligns with your tastes. I took a look at it last night, and it seemed neat, but I still don't know enough about it, and I don't like most "sandbox" games anyway.

I liked the arcade Air Combats, but Ace Combat Advance is good too.

It sounded interesting enough that I preordered the LE yesterday on Amazon so I could have one on hold since as expected at the 20% off price on amazon they already ran out for the moment. Honestly if It's a free roaming sandbox in space with little to no objective I won't mind. It's nice to just get lost in a game sometimes. Plus the LE box set looks really nice.

Makes me think of something like Spore... are we going to be talking about it two weeks after release?
