It intentionally implies that people are being denied of any rewards... not just like 3 rewards that were stated as being "Kickstarter Exclusive" rewards. It's intentionally trying to stir the pot. Just look at the headline.
Classic tabloid style "journalism".
Edit: The decision also doesn't contradict anything they previously said, so... don't where they got that from.

Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
I think the contradiction is that they said they'd run polls to decide what would happen with those rewards and, even though the "no" vote got the smallest percentage, that's the one they went with.Reprise wrote:

The Twitter poll was even more lopsided: http://www.pcgamer.com/paypal-backers-f ... r-rewards/
In any case, this is just the latest in a string of bad press around this Kickstarter. I am sure it is all tabloid/sensationalist nonsense, though.
Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
So, here's the real question: Why was that article even written? How is it relevant to anyone outside of the campaign? The tier rewards have always explicitly stated what was included, both in the kickstarter and in the paypal campaing. The results of the poll were posted in the news tab of the official website, for anyone who hadn't been a part of the Kickstarter update chain. Who is the target demographic for this article aside from pitiful ninnies with little to concern themselves with, other than being incensed by inane contrivances?
Did anyone ever think that maybe an overwhelming majority in support of making the kickstarter exclusives available to people outside of the kickstarter campaign might be the better threshold, when the majority is ambivalent to the result? Oh, right the management team probably did. It wasn't necessarily a first-past-the-post poll. The team in charge collected data and interpreted it accordingly.
Also, the reason for the second poll was because of the sample size from the twitter poll. Referencing the twitter poll is practically meaningless as the sample size was 14.04% of the second poll, and was prohibitive to those who do not (want to) use twitter, which was apparently a significant discrepancy.

Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
Shockingly, people who aren't invested in the Kickstarter care about what's going on around it.

The developer is called "Ys Net"?!
Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but it really is... The number of inaccuracies and speculative nonsense ("Sony is funding the game, it's a scam" anyone?) reported, has been staggering. Controversy sells though.dsheinem wrote:In any case, this is just the latest in a string of bad press around this Kickstarter. Edit: Regarding the poll, they didn't say they would add the Kickstarter exclusive rewards if "yes" got more votes. They said it was to gauge interest and if there was a strong consensus, they would asd them. To me, there was not a strong consensus. If this was a general election, it would be a hung parliament. "Yes" was not a clear winner.

Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
That email was a hell of an update. I am now somewhat in disbelief that Shenmue III will run smoothly on the PS4.
