Going to need a few miracles for this to be good.

It's probably going to be just another Reboot of a Reboot. There's no indication that the new Star Trek series is going back to the original continuity established by Gene Roddenberry. If they do, I would be much more interested.

A casting rumor, and even he's not happy with the cbs all access deal.

Perhaps if actors being considered or even hired have concern over it and enough trek people harass the hell out of CBS for attempting that stunt maybe they'll reconsider. It can not be that farfetched to think they'd have the balls to just put it on standard network TV in the evening on some night of the week around 8 or 9pm. It wouldn't be the end of the world and a nice mix up for them on their usual nightly drek.

They could honestly just give a bonus for the all access members, like episodes a week ahead of tv broadcast or something to that nature. Or maybe they could include behind the scenes featurettes

That wouldn't just be smart it should be normal. Others do this even on the network level. Like if you want to see the new Family Guy or American Dad type stuff, you have to wait until the week after on Adult Swim as it has to run on FOX/TBS respectively first.

CBS should do this as other networks do it already both off and online. If someone pays up say $10/mo or whatever that CBS plan is, they should get perks, not excluded content only they get. Especially something like Trek with such a huge fan base as it just streams extortion and desperation as they want to get paid and few are buying into it.

Rumors flying around the net about this.
The tl;dr is that the first season will take place after TOS movies but before TNG. The series overall is supposed to be an anthology series and it will not be taking place on an Enterprise. Thoughts?

If those rumors are true I nominate moving this to the smile/pissed thread considering they're still putting this behind a pay wall online streaming account after teasing people with the pilot on CBS.
