Man what a fun collection of songs! I may go crazy if I don't get someone to tell me what #8 is.

That was fun. I really thought I recognised #4 and #21 but nope. Might be because the N64 and Game Boy have very distinctive sound chips.

Holy crap I just played Chu Chu Rocket for work. I should be ashamed I missed that one. I'm not surprised I didn't know 8 I've barely played any Pokémon. It sounded like an 80s cartoon intro and it was killing me.

Dammit, they were Tales of Symphonia and Bayonetta! I can't believe I messed up which Wild Arms game that track was from, either.
AGH, and Blazing Lazers! Damn you, Compile! The rest I would have had almost no reason to know, aside from maybe Lost Kingdoms and Xenoblade Chronicles.
The one from Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru sounded really familiar, but I think it's probably just that it sounds a bit like a GB rendition of something from a Climax Entertainment game. It kind of makes we want to play it, though--and by extension the Xerd no Densetsu games.

I think one of the coolest things about running these quizzes is finding out not only how distinctive each consoles soundchip is (which I kinda knew already) but also how distinctive certain developers are.
When people didn't know or would guess, they would frequently name the developer or another game by the same developer. Sunsoft in particular obviously has a very distinct sound that you guys all latched onto pretty quick!
Also, I chose a fair few songs that sounded like they could have been in a Western, and I'm really sorry to the couple of guys and gals who kept guessing Sunset Riders for those games. I've never actually played that one

Yeah, for number #4 I my intial reaction was Perfect Dark because of those classic Rareware synth-strings. Is JFG a Grant Kirkhope joint?

Nooooooo, I missed the deadline, I'm so angry at myself.
Anyway, congratz to Sload Soap and Sarge for winning! I will try not to suck next time and actually participate.

By my count, I got these right. Does that mean I actually got nine of them? Not that it really matters.
And seriously, that's a weird set of tunes to get right.
