I recently got an HD tv and it has really killed my drive to play Genesis games as they look really washed out and bad through SCART and I don't have room in my flat to keep another tv on. It's a drag.

Hopefully some of the things in this thread will help to make it look better

Since you're calling it the "Genesis" I'm assuming you're in North America. That being said, how are you using SCART with your HDTV?

If a scaler is involved, I always try 480P first, improve the settings on all hardware (screen & scaler in this case) to the best visually (on the screen, disable all enhancements, set all basic settings to 50, then recalibrate colors and mess with sharpness - set to 0, 30-38 or 50 depending on brand so no edges halo; 0 will blur details excessively on some screens - on most 0 is the correct setting).
After tuning in 480P, the strength of your screen's internal scaler and your external video scaler will make your settings clear. They're entirely subjective. Set the scaler to progressively higher settings and see if you like the results.

I just use scart+upscaler. I am from South America, so to get a Framemeister is a quite impossible task. Anyway thank you everybody for your answers, later gonna upload a video of my genesis running to show my progress :D
