Gamestop in most cases has no value but to pay too much and deal with more garbage than it's worth. I can get anyone never stepping within one.

But there are these select occasions something just falls into place. They have old stock going back a generation and they can get that or even the now stuff that's hard to get due to corporate (maker) undersupply stupidity. Due to their chain of stores and willingness to call others and ship between you can come away beating the troll pricing on ebay for stuff. This isn't just games, but also all year long still going in cases Amiibo bullshit online asking 2, 3, 4x the value of a $13-14 dollar toy.

I recall my wife a year ago for my b'day gifting me Ocarina of Time 3DS when it was supposedly so-called media says out of print so the scumbags of Nintendo sellers left retro to go modern and started selling them easily at $80 at the time, sometimes as high as $100. I got it for $50 taxed, still a smidge higher than the $40 retail, but not paying double or more is nice. I've also got a few Amiibo through them locally that people gouge online for at the going rate. You just need to know what you're after, get in and get out, use the system to your advantage and if you can't tolerate the stupid stuff, then just don't bother. But evil, no they're not.

Congrats on things working out well. I got mine but haven't opened it yet. I'm happy I was able to get it though.

The manager at our store is leaving and a new guy from a store I don't care for is coming in. Prior to the current manager I'd stop in once every six months or so since the experience was dreadful. I'm hoping it doesn't revert.

We don't have Gamestop here (as far as I know) but EB Games is just as big and it used to be my go-to store until they started to faze out all the retro stuff and now they don't even stock PS3 and Wii Games. Now I won't even enter one. It's Gametraders all the way now (and for online fullyretro.com.au).

The people behind Gamestop own EB Games, Software Etc, and Babbage's if you ever had any of those around. We used to have an EB Games, and Babbage's at one of the malls, but all of the locations in my area have been converted over to Gamestop over the years.

Yeah, I know some places haven't shifted due to the language of the leases on buildings. But at this point they're all just market names for Gamestop.

I still wish I'd had more money to raid the NES games when they were getting rid of them at EBGames years ago. That's where I scored a $2 complete copy of Zoda's Revenge. :)

I'm trying to think of what year that was, honestly. Had to have been '94-'95. It seems like the times I've found the best stuff, I've not had much money. Just the way it goes, I guess!
