X was my final attempt too. They move so slowly and I feel they could do with an advanced mode so you can turbo through dialogue, tutorials and menus.

Mine too X just drags hard after that first gym I think it was. Having to go through this slog with some cave system, mountainous/cliff-seaside bit wrap around. It sucked the will out of me to care and I moved on, then never came back to it, realized I still had it. I tried again, almost immediately felt put out, then sold it. Shortly after I found Pokemon Yellow and going back to less convoluted garbage basics made it more fun.

Y'all are angry jaded men. X and Y were fine. There are tedious points in all of the games, but they're solid offerings.

You cannot honestly tell me that the various caves, swimming, and dungeon sections from Red/Blue/Yellow are better or on par with some of the later entries' sections of the same type. Zubat, exploding Gravelers, and Tentacool/cruel can be aggravating, when you're trying to speed through the game and you don't have good counter Pokemon.

They're the same thing. Fans of the series should know that by this point. If you're having a hard time accepting this, consider that perhaps we're not the target audience anymore.

Personally I'm excited to download and play Yellow tomorrow. I think that was the version I played most, because Pikachu.

Loved X&Y, bought both of them. Loved ORAS, bought both of them. I'm psyched for the next game.

The one I played most was Black 2, followed by Silver.

I discovered Pokémon at 30 years old

There hasn't been a bad main entry Pokemon game yet IMO. I wasn't a fan of Black/White 2 just because it didn't add much that interested me, and I didn't care much about the story of Black/White in the first place, but it certainly wasn't bad. I've also never cared much about the remakes, but again, that doesn't mean that they're bad; they're just not my cup of tea.

Black & White 2 is the only release I haven't played; it didn't seem like it added enough given I still hadn't finished Black when it came out. When these come out I'll have to move my entire 720 living Pokedex (or 721 if Volcanon comes out) to the new game using the bank.

Well I'll be darned they confirmed it...though that was way too short of a video...kinda wish they'd of given more details on the games in the video...

Oh, I know I'm not angry. I just acknowledge my weakness in that I'm not willing to go through the grind necessary to play the games properly. I'm actually quite impressed by the metagame that emerges at higher-level competitive Pokemon play.
