Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
I couldn't go backwards into BoFIII after IV. I lost interest in the first two pretty quickly. III has some charm to it, but overall just still felt utterly generic with nothing interesting going on, topped off with some Chrono Trigger ripoff music that still cracks me up. IV comes out of nowhere and is utterly legit with one of the most nostalgia inducing classic Capcom sounding OST's on the PS1. It's not a huge spoiler, but playing segments of the game from the perspective of the main antagonist was amazing and this game has by far one of the darkest alternate endings I've ever seen. Hopefully that entices some to check it out if you haven't. Don't let the three previous stinkers fool you.

Note to self; play BoF4 this year you cheeky bastard.

There is one thing I did love about BoF3. Its OST. I totally loved the jazzy BoF3 soundtrack.

I have to go into your King's Field mode with BoFIV. Nobody ever really talks about this game and I don't know why.

Unpopular opinion- I can count all the games I like on N64 on one hand and they've all been done better on other consoles. I don't understand what I use to see in that console.
The only reason I still have it is because my wife likes it

You need to delve into the hidden gems of that console. Start with Buck Bumble and Beetle Adventure Racing.strangenova wrote:Unpopular opinion- I can count all the games I like on N64 on one hand and they've all been done better on other consoles. Agreed. N64 is the one console that I could easily never play again in my life. Wasn't a fan back in the day either.strangenova wrote:Unpopular opinion- I can count all the games I like on N64 on one hand and they've all been done better on other consoles. That N64 opinion is not an unpopular opinion on this website.
I mean, it's still clearly wrong, but perhaps not unpopular

This is the operative part of that. The Nintendo 64 is a beautiful console for it's lack of loading times if nothing else. #cartridgemasterracealienjesus wrote:That N64 opinion is not an unpopular opinion on this website.

While I would agree that the number of games that I like on the system is far smaller than any other major console, I still like it a good amount. Now I'm curious what your faves are.
I think, at the time, it was the place for kart racers, it played host to two excellent Zelda games, had Mario 64 and its Rare imitations, and Goldeneye / Perfect Dark. Oh, and Paper Mario! Those made it worthwhile, in my mind.
Plus, delve down just a bit more, and there's a good Ogre Battle game, weird stuff like Hybrid Heaven, Blast Corps, so yeah, I think my number on that is probably a bit higher than yours... but it's still not very large. Probably 20-ish.

Sin and Punishment, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, Buck Bumble, Beetle Adventure Racing, Off Road Challenge, Kirby 64 - the N64 had a lot of really fantastic exclusives.
