That's about where I'm at. While I kind of liked Peacewalker since they made the control/camera less crappy it still got bored of it and stopped. The only one I ever really liked a heap (of the 3D titles) was the first and the Integral version for Windows and then later Twin Snakes which was similar to that. I just don't see the appeal other than the story writing but that went nuts as it went along too.

I can't argue with someone that only likes MGS1, it has been and forever will be the King.

I think MGS1 is the best personally. It had so much atmosphere. It really felt like you were sneaking around that base, and the codec conversations added to that feeling of being stealthy and hidden.

I did like 3 as well. It didn't have the atmosphere as much for me, but wacky bosses aside, it was the closest the series has come to making sense story-wise. There was an actual plot you could follow instead of just actively ignoring half of the ridiculous plot points.

That's about it for me. MGSV's gameplay was spectacular, but everything else was subpar or worse. The story is essentially half of a Metal Gear story with the pages thrown up in the air and re-ordered at random. The game could've been incredible, but it seems like the whole Konami/Kojima feud got in the way and they shipped what they had. Thanks to all those media outlets that played the game for two days straight and never mentioned that the game was obviously unfinished.

I guess it depends on when you start looking at the series. MGS1 more or less takes Metal Gear 2 and makes it 3D and tries to be cinematic/etc. Not that it isn't good, but in context, MGS1 is more evolutionary than revolutionary. We just didn't see Metal Gear 2 stateside beforehand.

I'd say MGS3 is a stronger entry overall, but the relative lack of baggage for MGS1 certainly helped it as well.

As a left wing, equalist, I cannot stand that woman. She is a liar, she is obnoxious and aggressive with her views and her arguments are deeply flawed. What I hate most though is how the media and a lot of the general public have eaten up her shit and taken what she says at face value, without doing any research. Thanks to some of the manchild idiots who were part of the Gamergate movement and the media's support of her, apparently anyone critical of her is a "sexist bigot".
I'm not "leftist." I find her videos informative and interesting. Her non-video game videos are pretty neat too.

Most of her "criticism" in regards to specific video games is pretty mild, honestly. And she can't be blamed for things others are saying.

Well here's one I'm sure is unpopular. Tiger 80s and early 90s handhelds are fun, limited, but still enough of them are fun. Mind you I'd value them around $10 at most, preferably half or less, but you can't always win that low. I still need to get one I had as a kid back, MM2.

It did, back in 2004 by a pack of fanboys going by Lucasfans.

Also they're German, but if you hit their website they've made 10 new chapter adventures, and 4 of them are in English.

I'd run that through a google website translator to get some form of english text to read the rest of the site.

MGS is like a B movie interpretation of real world politics. Splinter Cell made sense, but it was boring, despite having excellent gameplay. MGS manages to combine the zany and realistic in an amusing way. As for MGS5, mission 43 alone was worth the price of admission imho, but I just wish Kojima (and his team of course) had made a more concerted experience. :!:
