I don't loathe them, but the N64, GameCube, and Dreamcast controllers all have aspects that aren't desirable.

The N64 has a terrible analog stick prone to self destruction. The GameCube's c-stick is just dumb and its d-pad is way too small and its z-trigger is unergonomic. The Dreamcast controller needs a second analog stick, needs for its wire to emit from the rear of the controller by design, and its primary analog has a little too much drift.
