Looks like capcom is making me buy a current gen system
Looks like capcom is making me buy a current gen system
...Street Fighter IV and resident evil 5 right around the corner. Damn you capcom if any one can make me buy a system it will be you! Anyone else looking to buy a current gen system for RE5?
Re: Looks like capcom is making me buy a current gen system
Well I already have a wii and although the number of core games is limited there are more than I can actually find time to play so I'm pretty happy with it, although there are a handful of games that I would love to play but will never come out on the wii.
Both the games you mentioned though are seriously making me consider buying one of the other other systems. I keep swaying between between the 360 (because it is cheap) and the PS3 (because it doesnt self destruct).

Resident Evil 5 will still be there in a few years when it's no longer current gen.

I'd say go with the PS3, because you can also get one of the greatest Sega games ever: Valkyria Chronicles.

It's a toss up between both systems. PS3 does also have MGS4 tho.

Well, picking any system for one or two, or even five games is something I'd consider to be a mistake. A system better have a library of games already available to it as well as a future.
Of course, I still went with the PS3, but that was mainly because of all of the 360s killer aps (Gow1&2, Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2), the only one that appeals to me is Dead Rising. Call me weird, but a sandbox full of zombies is the only reason I'm considering maybe getting an Xbox 360 before a PSP.
As for Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter Iv, arent' both of them going to be on the PC? SF4 for sure, but I though RE5 would be too. 'Course, don't take my word for it; I've haven't exactly been following newsfeeds on either of them.

Re: Looks like capcom is making me buy a current gen system
I'd say that if I were to pick up a current gen system, Capcom would be the primary reason for that. They seem to be the only company keeping a consistent flow of good titles for the newer consoles.
Aside from new iterations of SF and RE (and Mega Man, I dare say), Capcom is also investing pretty hard in new(er) franchises. Lost Planet and Dead Rising are both getting sequels, Dark Void is coming soon, there's Age of Booty and Flock available on PSN and XBLA, which look nice. There's Bionic Commando Rearmed already out there and the new Bionic Commando in the works, aside from the HD Remixes of SF2 and Puzzle Fighter.
The current gen systems are still too damn expensive, but Capcom almost makes them worth it. (And yes, most if not all of those titles are coming to PC, but let's face it, their ports are probably gonna be crap.)

Re: Looks like capcom is making me buy a current gen system
The only way Capcom will make me buy a new system is if they send me a check.
I can't afford to support my family and a new generation gaming habit. I can afford SF4 on PC when it comes out, and I will get that sometime this year... don't know when but sometime.
I wish Capcom made me buy a current gen system because anything short of Capcom holding a gun to my head couldn't clear my conscience or justify me spending that much money right now.

Well I might not end up buying it right away and may wait for the price for the system to hit rock bottom.

Don't forget the new Bionic Commando. That looks great.
