Not to start an argument, but that's not correct. The tin case itself doesn't say anything, but the plastic sleeve says "Collector's Edition" across the bottom in an orange banner.

I suppose it does, I don't have it or a Wii anymore. It's kind of a trap though these days writing collector's edition on stuff. Usually it means there's a normal one, in this case, there wasn't. At least with mario it was a 25th anniversary package, but this was just a normal gussied up release to bait in Metroid Prime fans. There was no-intent on the white box re-print until Gamestop got the ok to do so through their retro(something, forget name) reprint vendor they use.

Other regions got a regular edition alongside the collector's edition, but North America only got the collector's edition.

True but as an US consumer I don't care about or pay attention to other regions. :) We just got the one standard release as released by Nintendo.

I'll throw my hat in the debate since we're being really picky.

The original release of the games was MP1 on GC, MP2 on GC, and MP3 on Wii. Therefore, the rerelease as 'Triology' is the 'Collectors Edition' as opposed to the 'standard edditions' being the prior GC and Wii games.

I'm just glad we're getting some new re-releases. I've been meaning to get City Folk and I may even pick up Ocarina if the mood strikes.

The drafts of the new Nintendo selects look nice. Looks like the wised up and made the spines uniform with every other release. The covers are different, but the spines are the same, save for a little icon down at the bottom.

I'm excited for this line especially if spines are going to be very similar. I'm starting with Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and NES Remix, the two I most want to play, and I'll likely grab Mario All-Stars and the 3DS games at some point as well. Metroid Prime Trilogy, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and Xenoblade releases would be very welcome additions to this series.

Woah! So they all ARE gonna be only $20! Totally gonna get Yoshi's New Island at that price.

Also very heartily recommend DKCR: Tropical Freeze to anyone who hasn't played it yet. At $20, that game is a steal for how great it is.

I'm grabbing Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and Ocarina of Time 3D. Really pleased to see these come out in a few days.
