Yeah, it's bad, and the first 90% of it is the thing I hate most - alternate timeline. The last part, like I said, is the main universe and definitely should be experienced via YouTube if nothing else because it sets up the story for Blood Drive.

Book of Shadows is bad. The original is great, and Blood Drive is great, but Book of Shadows is garbage for the first 90% of the game. The only redeeming part is the very last chapter which, admittedly, is REALLY interesting and sets the stage for Blood Drive. Don't feel silly for buying them all, though, because Blood Drive is worth playing. Just watch a YouTube playthrough of the end of Book of Shadows and play Blood Drive.

Is Blood Drive better than the original though? I couldn't finish the original because there were parts where it seemed impossible to avoid the ghosts and die. It probably didn't help much that I already knew the story I guess, but I really didn't like not being able to progress in that game ><;

The original is better than Blood Drive in terms of narrative IMO, but Blood Drive has better gameplay (technically, anyway; I, personally, preferred the original's style) and more challenge to it, but it's more actual challenge than just bullshit hard to avoid ghosts (there's a way to exorcise the ghosts in Blood Drive instead of just run like a bitch).

I think Blood Drive is very much worth playing. It's also got a GREAT soundtrack. Really dark feeling low-key dubstep. It fits the mood perfectly.

Ok, if you say there is less BS then I'll give it a go sometime. Hopefully when I get to it, the package will smell less too (unless this was just me? my copy smells like gross new plastic ._.)

I didn't notice, but I also didn't stick my face into the box. It's not as good as the original in my opinion, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It does some good world building with magic/occult societies and such.

I didn't even have to stick my face in! When I got it, I just opened it up and the smell nearly knocked me out it was so bad. Now it's a little more bearable (yes I had to get up and smell it to check), but it still has a bit of that really bad new plastic smell. I think it's mostly the book but I'm not sure.
