yo, I just had a crazy thought...

Because I use dialup for my online Dreamcasting, I have been thinking of the DreamPi is sort of a cool thing to keep an eye on, but not something I really NEED right now.

But I had an interesting thought... because you're not actually using a landline to play these dialup games, this means that you can get multiple DreamPi's for LAN-play.

It depends on how the dreampi software routes on if you need the internet. But regardless, you are sending packets in the kilobytes, so you should be able to have four or twelve dreampis running on the same cable modem with no issue.

right right. I'm just thinking that this might be a good way to finally convince my wife to play PSO. Even w/ one DreamPi I could use in conjunction w/ dialup - I could have two DC's running PSO in the same room.

Noise, ya got a pretty good point there. I wish Pi Zeros were readily available, because i'd totally snatch one up and see if I could get DreamPi running on it. Anyone know what the deal is with those? Also wish the Pi 1 B+'s were cheaper than the Pi 2's, but they're all about the same price.

Here's something nice I thought you guys would get a kick out of. Got project x zone 2, figured I'd download the Dreamcast 3DS theme too, to see what it was like.

Best theme ever!

I got this game from Mike for Christmas among a box of other DC goodies

Image

I assume it would be terrible.

But I noticed something tonight - it says "Crave Entertainment." The same Crave that did the Tony Hawk games on DC?

Image

Well, I'll be... Look at this! It's like Tony Hawk for kids. It's easier (barring some wonky controls) and it features kids on scooters... but it feels like the same engine and has the same concept of hitting goals (high scores, collecting stuff, grind stuff...) to open up more levels.

I can't believe I've been playing this for the past hour. Huh.

OMG! I have been waiting for this theme to become available on the north American eshop since I first saw it! Downloading it now!

Edit: the theme is so awesome, the pso music playing, and opening it from sleep mode, the best sound!

hey guys, looking for some advice here. Y'all remember my most recent Dreamcab setup?

Image

Well, I really feel like the monitor should be quite a bit higher. I'm thinking like at least 6".

I'm pretty sure this monitor has VESA on the back, so I could get some kind of arm/stand thing. But... I need the stand to have as little footprint as possible. Part of this setup is that the top of the shelf where the monitor and arcade sticks are is very narrow. That's why right now the monitor is on no stand at all. There's very little room behind the arcade sticks.

I know there's stands like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Single-Monitor-Ad ... onitor+arm

Image

^But those are meant to be CLAMPED to a desk. There is no way to clamp this to the back of the bookshelf as it's flat.

I guess I'm looking for something similar to this that I could just bolt to the top of the shelf? This sounds reasonably simple/common yet I've had trouble finding something that fits this need.

Anyone know of one?

OR anyone know of another simple solution I'm not realizing?

I should note that I'm not great at wood-working, and I want this to stay really simple looking. And no, I'm not ready to commit to mounting the monitor on the wall yet.

wallmount to perfect height
put shelf underneath for arcade stick
winning

although then that leaves you nowhere to put like the console and stuff, hmmm....
