So I don't know what's up with Amazon but they're pissing me off this past week. I pre-ordered Project X Zone 2 last Friday and they said it wouldn't arrive until this Thursday, two days after release. I e-mailed them and their robots said they'd gladly upgrade me to one day shipping to arrive on Wednesday. I said no, it's to be delivered on release day that's the idea of a preorder. I've preordered stuff before and never had a problem. This did not compute with them and after a lengthy back and forth the game still came Wednesday. Really annoying, but not the end of the world I guess.

Last night I go to preorder Mega Man Legacy Collection. Scheduled to arrive next Thursday, again two days after release. WTF is up with Amazon?? I'm preordering in plenty of time. If it was the day before or even the Sunday before I'd understand, but this should not be an issue. The issue seems to have cropped up now that they have this 20% off preorder bonus. I don't know why but it doesn't feel like coincidence.

At any rate all of a sudden Amazon is either dropping the ball completely or being really picky about how much stock they have for preorders. Or something else. I can't really put my finger on it, but I'm giving them 4-5 days to deliver a package in 2 days and they can't seem to be able to do it all of a sudden.

Not every Amazon game is eligible for Release Date Delivery. It requires the publisher to be willing and able to get them inventory far enough in advance for Amazon to be able to ship it out without having to use the most expensive options from their carriers.

Oh ok I see Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is certainly still available to receive on Tuesday, so yeah must be dependent on what you state above. Thanks.

I don't know, maybe they ran out of copies they have available for the release date? I pre-ordered Mega Man Legacy Collection last month and it's coming on the release date, incidentally my birthday!

Like Popo said, only some games are eligible for release day delivery. It depends on the developer. For example, Fire Emblem Fates will be delivered today, but Project X Zone 2 didn't even ship until its release date even though I preordered both of them at the same time.

Well in the case of Mega Man here it WAS eligible when I ordered it but isn't now.

Ohh. I have mine pre-ordered with Gamestop, and they suck too much to do release day delivery.

I have had similar issues with online pre-ordering at Amazon and Gamestop. I quit doing that.

Honestly, I rarely pre-order anything any more by any method.

All this talk of unfinished games and patching reminded me.... There's an Intellivision game called Swords & Serpents where there's no way to kill the final boss. Apparently they ran out of time/space to properly program this. It's pretty hilarious. Boss game otherwise though.
