Ditto, it's the video game equivalent to Legos. I think its going to have a lot of impact on the gaming industry when today's kids are the ones making tomorrow's games.
If that's true then I have a lot of hope for the future of my favorite hobby.

I think if I were younger, I'd love it, but if I were going to spend my time constructing things these days, it'd be an actual game instead of Lego blocks. Cool that the kiddos get to exercise some creativity, though! :D

I can't decide honestly which mode I found less entertaining. You can free build and not worry about stuff, or you can play where night can kill you (or starving) but even in that mode you can disable that threat too but still have to locate resources. It's just a weird one but I do agree if I were a teenager or a kid I'd probably be nuts over it. Far more free time allows for far more creativity. Kind of again like I said, if I Lego, I Lego with a manual because it's relaxing and fun.

I should have a set posted as used but was new from the 90s pop up tomorrow too, it's artsy more square-ish box with 2 weird robots in it called 1785 Space Critters Set. Never heard of it before, saw it new at the local shop and they were gouging at $30, tagged it on ebay for $16 shipped. :) I think you can make many robots, not just the art on the box.

Yeah as an adult if I'm building something it's going to be an actual tangible object that aids real life. Like a gazebo or a shoe rack or something.

My former roommate actually used to run a server for Minecraft, because he wanted to ensure there was a safe place for kids to be able to play the game and interact with each other. When Minecraft multiplayer was at its height, he had one of the biggest family-friendly servers, and he really enjoyed the mail that he'd get, not only from the kids but from the parents about how much they appreciated what he had put together. He even managed to put together minigames, so kids could further go in and play competitively or cooperatively within the framework of the game.

Cool roomie, and Ex-- I wish I could do that. Sadly I can't build anything and I wish I could but I just don't own the tools, nor do I have the skills since none were ever handed down to me to properly do anything of the sort. There are things I'd love to repair or construct here totally off my skill set.

I didn't like Metal Gear Solid 4. I didn't get its design choices at all. This is coming from a fan of all the PS2 MGS games.

The graphics were great, but the constant screen tearing was annoying. The radar was based on sound, and it wasn't nearly as useful as running into a room to see who's hanging out where. Speaking of which, I totally spammed the tranquilizer for most of the game, making all that exciting weaponry almost pointless.

MGS3 is loaded with fascinating Easter Egg's. Why did MGS4 have next to nothing? The Blu-Ray bit was pandering (like that whole section of the story) and not at all an Easter Egg, and the "ghosts" were just character portraits.

Even the writing didn't work for me -- "FTW" and "meme's?" Come on, Kojima, you can do so much better.

How long is the "interactive" part of MGS4, anyway? 6 hours? 8? Less than 10, certainly. That forced stealth bit with the guy in the alleyways was agonizing, and that was its own hour.

Hopefully, this rant wasn't too offensive. Some people think the game is fantastic, but I just didn't enjoy it.

The whole series as in "Metal Gear" or as in "Metal Gear Solid"? Cuz I'd think you'd quite like Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. And I bet you'd like MGS Ghost Babel.
