These were actually big selling points for me.Sload Soap wrote:Outside of the main quest there is very little to do . . . FFVII clocks in at about three times the length of PDS

Alpha Protocol is quite good, though pistols are massively OP.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Same here. It wasn't amazing, but it was definitely solidly good.Ack wrote:I actually really enjoyed Alpha Protocol...

Wait, Alpha Protocol is an RPG? I thought it was just an FPS ...

It's both third person and an RPG. Combat is real time but pauses for certain abilities (think of Mass Effect).Stark wrote:Wait, Alpha Protocol is an RPG? I thought it was just an FPS ...

Re: RPG Progress Report
Final Fantasy VII has "better pacing" than Panzer Dragoon Saga?!
Re: RPG Progress Report
There's one area in PDS that drags a bit (that underground ruins area), but the rest is remarkably quick in its pacing. I love that it can be finished in 15-20 hours, and that it doesn't mess around a lot with side quests. Now, if that's your thing... well, I can see where it would feel restrictive.
I still think there are places the art design shines through, but the tech is rather sketchy, especially after we've been spoiled for so long with better draw distances and higher resolutions. Also, check out those warping polygons in the towns! A modern remake would be spectacular. Don't even change anything, just use a better engine.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am that we never received a Panzer Dragoon collection for the Wii. (It isn't too late to make one for the Wii U, however...Get on that Sega!)Sarge wrote:A modern remake would be spectacular. Don't even change anything, just use a better engine.

I started Pokemon Yellow last weekend for the 20th anniversary, just beat the pokemon grave tower. I forgot how creepy Lavander Towns music was. Also Pikachu kind of sucks since he won't let me evolve into Raichu, but I feel obligated to use him since it is yellow version.
