I don't know Ack...it seems more like you are the one that keeps saying stuff like "you people" and "I see this all the time" etc... As if to imply that because I have an appreciation for Sega then I am grouped in with a certain demographic. I have said several times that I love Nintendo as well and although I don't love Sony I haven't done any bashing on them.

I'm not looking for an argument here or anything nor am I offended, it just seems that while you are wanting people not to be brand loyal you have a hint of aggression towards Sega yourself. It really all boils down to personal taste and preference and of course people are free to dislike Sega or any other brand for that matter.

Lastly, about the vmu I am saying that they aren't comparable because they don't function in the same way...the playstation thing was useless in the games it didn't add anything. Beside the visual similarities I don't see anything else.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, and I don't think you are either. I know, we're playing devil's advocate, but I'm trying to bring attention to something I've noticed. Here's a few quotes from this forum that have made me feel this way.
lisalover1 wrote:I don't like Sony. They killed the Dreamcast, and I will never forgive them for that. While the PS2 is a great system in it's own right, I shall forever hate sony themselves.
Curlypaul wrote:I hated Sony for years for killing Sega, but now I merely dislike them for it
Saraph wrote:Of course, I hate Sony as well, so I'm not rooting for them to win
Saraph wrote:I hate M$, give me Sega!
sv650touring wrote:I hate Sony as much as you do
Zer wrote:Being the Sony hater I am I haven't played any of the MGS games
megadethdrumfire wrote:No matter how much i try i cant seem to get into any game on any sony system, i think its because i have it set in my mind that i hate them.. for killing sega! haha i know its stupid, but i just cant help my self! I really hope the ps3 fails bad too haha
And don't bother asking Lordofduct or Metaleggman their opinions of Sony, though I believe their opinions come from having bad experiences with Sony hardware. Niode seems to think Sony is Satan incarnate. Mozgus hates them too, though I never found a definite reason why. It's Mozgus, so I'm sure it's pretty good.

If nothing else, one guy did say the point I'm trying to make.
opethfan wrote:It's pretty stupid to hold a grudge against a piece of plastic and silicon. Hate the executives who made Sega fail, and enjoy the games that have been made, and continue to be made, regardless of who made them.
Now I realize not all the quotes are related to Sega, but considering how much we talk about Sega here, and generally how positive the things are said about them...at least while they were producing consoles, and considering the amount of negative things I find said about Sony, I see some overlap. Maybe it's just me, but that's how it appears to me. That's where I'm coming from.

Also at this point, I'm actually finding our back and forth about the VMU/Pocket Station thing kinda funny. I see similarity, but that doesn't mean you have to as well. I also do love my Saturn and Dreamcast immensely, and there are quite a few Sega products I enjoy. I'm a huge Virtua Fighter fan, I think House of the Dead and Virtua Cop are the best light gun arcade titles ever, and series like Shenmue and Yakuza definitely have me interested. I may not care for Sonic...but then again, you should see me rant about Mario 64.

Exactly. Dont hate Sony, hate Bernie Stolar instead!

Sony killed the DREAMCAST!!

No, I'm just kidding.

It's no big thing mate..I don't have a problem with our opinions being different. I just thought some of your comments felt a little hostile. Of course, seeing the turn the thread has taken I see your point.

I can't believe I wrote all that.

For me video games have been a huge part of my life since I was about 5. My mom got me a Nintendo so that I would play with the other kids.

Yeah, that backfired a little.

Smartest thing I've read so far.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
