But I like how Patreon just moves money from my credit card. Paypal takes a cut too, doesn't it?

If you send the money as a gift rather than a payment, PayPal doesn't take a cut.Anapan wrote:But I like how Patreon just moves money from my credit card. Paypal takes a cut too, doesn't it?

Paypal gift has no fees since it's meant for sending money to friends and provides no buyer protection. Unlike the standard pay which does 2.9% and $0.30 per transaction but gives the buyer protection in case a deal goes sour.Anapan wrote:But I like how Patreon just moves money from my credit card. On the other hand "Patreon takes 5% and there are additional credit card fees that usually range from 4-6%." 9-11% may not sound like much but it adds up quickly.

Edit:
looks like they also charge you deposit fees according to that same page:
Transfer fees
US creators receiving payment via Stripe - $0.25 fee for every deposit.
US creators receiving payment via PayPal - 2% of the amount transferred capped at $1 per deposit.
International creators receiving payment via PayPal - 2% of the amount transferred capped at $20 per deposit.
International creators receiving global bank deposit via Payoneer - $3 transfer fee per deposit

If RB added a PayPal donate button, I would definitely donate.

Re: Forum Issues
I'm just bumping this to ask a question. This may not be an issue, I just didn't think it was worth creating a new thread over.
Now, my computer might be infected (antivirus shows nothing), but sometimes when I go to the racketboy main page, I'm shown an advertisement for pancake mix or some such and never make it to the site. I currently have my ad blocker disabled, and don't have this issue with any other websites, so I thought maybe there was something going on with the advertisement on the site.
If not, I'll find someone to clean up my computer.

I'm on a mobile and this happens every once in a while to me as well.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I'm just bumping this to ask a question. This may not be an issue, I just didn't think it was worth creating a new thread over.

Re: Forum Issues
I've seen that happen as well. I'd guess it's something funny with the ad itself.

Re: Forum Issues
Yeah, there is at least one ad in the mix that will sometimes flag as spam. It is some weird junk.

Ah, ok. I was scared I had gotten a redirect virus again.
