I will admit that I put in garbage characters into the game choices. Justs to see what would happen.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
All my scores were really low. Anyway, it breaks me down as:
Calm, Spontaneous, Relaxed, Independent, Grounded, and Practical
Action Component: 30%
Destruction: 36%
Excitement: 29%
Mastery Component: 33%
Challenge: 41%
Strategy: 30%
Achievement Component: 31%
Completion: 53%
Power: 21%
Social Component: 9%
Competition: 31%
Community: 3%
Immersion Component: 10%
Fantasy: 13%
Story: 12%
Creativity Component: 4%
Discovery: 4%
Design: 11%
I... kinda question this. I feel that my answers would change depending on the genre we're talking about. What I value in one, I don't in another. I don't need a rip-roarin' story to go whip monsters or blast aliens.

Yeah. I'm with Exhuminator on this one. I gave "least importance" to the whole first half and the rest was mostly a mixture of "lol no" with some "well, it depends on the game" answers.

Ehh, off in some bits but I wouldn't say it is too far off. The answering system used I've never liked, it doesn't allow enough nuance, so I might over or under report something on it. It'll depend a bit on genre/mood too, and I'm honestly surprised I scored so high on social components.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think I'd be more of a social gamer if I wasn't so independent. As you might have inferred I love to talk about games, discuss strategies, that sort of thing. But the act of coordinating playtimes with other people I find to be a real pain; I want to play when I want to play. And playing cooperatively with people has frequently become a source of frustration because I usually find that people are at a lower skill than me and like to screw around (from my perspective).

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
My deal is that I hate online gaming, but it's really the only place to find competition these days, at least in my case. If I get someone multiplayer, I'm pretty doggone competitive... but can also accept my limitations and not take things so seriously that I'll ruin friendships and whatnot. (I have a friend that had to stop playing Risk with another friend because it got so heated.)
I was a pretty poor sport in Tiger Woods Golf one time, though. I was getting stomped mightily, even while playing relatively well, and quit about the seventh hole. That's okay, though, I got him back much later on in Capcom vs. SNK 2. He won't play me at that game anymore.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
As for online multiplayer... the simplest thing I can say is that I mainly play games to get away from people. To experience a simulated reality devoid of actual reality, and that includes devoid of real people. However, I understand that sometimes real friends move away from each other, and still want to play games together, so that's fair enough.
But, I don't know how people can stand to play games with live streaming comment feeds constantly popping up. Just inane chatterboxes spawning over and over. No, I don't care what you think, quit breaking my immersion. Yes I'm the guy who even turned off achievement and trophy notifications on my 360 and PS3. I hated that 4th wall breaking shit.

I'm a single player gamer and hate when people watch me play. Also I can't sit back in a couch for some reason, I have to sit on the edge because gaming is serious business.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The funny thing is, you can tell when I am playing seriously because I lean forward on the couch. If I'm sitting back, I play leisurely. If the challenge comes, I then lean forward...and proceed to make something my bitch.noiseredux wrote:Sega...
