I think it in fact does.

Now here's the facts if something hasn't changed in the last year. The R5 only has the tools to run what is advertised (ie: emulators) and they're not stock they're tweaked. So if the 32X isn't advertised it won't work, but uniquely seeing it run as a pass through much like a Honeybee on NES is interesting. Second is that IT could work, lots of things could work, but two things would need to be done. 1. They'd have to write the code for the accessory to be picked up at all. 2. There would be in the case of 32X, Game Gear, whatever the need of an emulator to interpret the games.

On point 1, you'll find quite a few accessories do or don't work with the system because if the Hyperkin home office didn't buy the part for the coder of the system, it won't work. When I had been buddies and nightly talking with the guy working for them in HK (a New Zealander) I bugged him about adding arkanoid controller support for NES. He wanted it, but the office wouldn't send him one, he wasn't going to buy it out of pocket, and couldn't just accept one either at the office so it never got added. So for the 32X you'd have to have it see the device, plus emulate all the parts and core of it so it fires up the games.

That's the deal with it. Personally when they started talking a GG adapter as an 11th system I was impressed they'd bother, but given the fact the 32X needs no tweaks, just code dump and some menu modification for another device I just see laziness.

Edit: NM

Honestly I'd be all over a Game Gear adapter since the handhelds themselves are failing at a high rate.

As for the 32X it's no biggie to me since I want a Sega CD and I highly doubt the Retron could even handle on of those so having a genesis around will be necessary anyways.

Speaking of what runs and what doesn't on an R5,

I know that Mark III carts and My Card Mark III games work on it.

But there's no compatibility with the earlier SG-1000 cartridge and card games, right?

So, random update.

I've made the argument that SNES games have significantly more input lag on the Retron than any other system for some reason. I started to wonder if I was imagining it, as I couldn't find anyone who agreed with me.

I like to play with scan lines and a basic filter on the graphics that to me, make it look like I'm playing on a CRT (the filters don't look great without scan lines to me, but the scan lines + filter look lovely to my eyes...whatever). Anyway, the other day I happened to turn off the filter and the scan lines on Mario World just because. I was confused why I couldn't feel any lag when playing Mario Maker on my Wii U, but could feel it so definitively on the Retron.

Voila! With the filter and scan lines off, the lag disappeared. So, clearly, the filters add an extra millisecond or two to the input lag situation on Super Nintendo if anyone cares. I can't tell a difference on NES, but it was night and day (to me anyway) with SNES.

Had to add more than that. I think the minimal detectable lag is 8-16 ms, with most not noticing until above 40-60 ms

That actually makes a lot of sense, and thinking about it I remember seeing what you said about lag and filters before. I can't recall if it was just about input lag, but I really do recall people saying using some of those higher tier graphical filters would on some system emulators cause lag on certain games. It would make sense if the hardware is just good enough, or if the emulator is just halfass tweaked just enough to handle games at 100% that it would be pushing the envelope adding more layers of features and filtering that could tamper with input lag and not just frame rate.

I don't bother with them I find the whole thing ugly with filters. I play it crisp like I'm on a LCD on a computer where it's just sharp, though I do leave the audio enhancement on though I really am not sure why as it doesn't sound much like it does anything of value.

Tell the truth I haven't used it since sometime last year. I've been using real Gameboys and the Genesis I bought at the start of November on the TV if not the PS4 when my nephew wants to do Destiny.

Is there any way to hook up a PS3, or 4 controller to this without a wire?

Better question: Wiimote support?

That would be cool, just so I could hook up the classic controller. Which would also allow me to hook up a PS2 controller.
