While those series are all first person action-RPGs*, King's Field is a very different type of experience than Elderscrolls or Fallout. I don't think they are comparable in quite that way. Actually King's Fields biggest enemy is its own total lack of caring if people enjoy it or not.
If anyone hasn't done so, I do believe you can still pre-order the collector's edition. Comes with a Red Knight statue! There is also a Day One edition of the game. Pretty sure the Collector's has the Day One included, would be odd not too but I does mean that I will be buying 4 copies of the game.
Hey why so many unless you plan on keeping the collectors editions sealed, the game will be easily available that's a bad investment. Maybe 2 copies sounds reasonable 1 collectors and 1 to play.

I normally don't get a Standard and Collector's Edition for most games. The Souls/Souls type games are pretty much the only ones. Maybe its a mental thing where I love the franchise so much that I feel the need to show them by buying multiple copies. The other reason is I play with many people on different platforms so I'll have it on the PC, PS4 and XBox One. That's the reason I'm getting 2 Collector's Editions, one for PC and one for PS4 and then a standard on the PS4 and Xbox One.
I won't pretend it makes all that much sense but that's my reasoning.
Hopefully Sword Arts doesn't dumb down anything whatsoever. I love the changes to Bloodborne and it was freshing and all, but the fact of the matter is the game only offers an opportunity for about two different builds... STR/DEX or Bloodtinge. Dark Souls offers so much more with its various magic trees and huge onslaught of weapons, making the replayability unlimited. Hopefully this one is still a lot more flexible and just a much bigger game in general again.
For those wanting From to do first person again, so do I. And the Souls director really wants this to be the last. That doesn't mean the end of the line for the Sony produced games, so we could still see more down the pipeline there, but it definitely sounds like From wants to do something different next time.

I completely understand. I'm a little like that with Fallout. I have 3, 4, and New Vegas on all three platforms (well, I haven't bought 4 on Xbox One yet, but it's on my to-do list) along with all the DLC (excluding 4, obviously). I just LOVE the series so much that I want EVERYTHING.

Totally justified was only curious! Lol

I agree with the common sentiment here. From going back and making even just one more King's Field game with the improve combat they've learned to do would be amazing. And I think it is possible. Xeogred makes a good point, that From has mentioned wanting to do other different things not set in the Souls universe. Also I think at this point From has found their audience. Maybe not everyone who enjoy's Souls/Bloodborne is "hardcore" enough to go back and play the older King's Field games, but I think a new King's Field game with modern controls and improved combat could easily attract the same crowd who currently loves Souls/Bloodborne. All they need is to see "FROMSOFTWARE" on the box to recognize the pedigree. But, even though I think it is possible, I can't say how likely it is. Maybe we should start a petition or something to get From's attention on this issue?
Anyway, as for Dark Souls 3, some things I'm hoping for. Well, I believe I've mentioned this before, but I hope Dark 3 get's harder than Bloodborne and Dark 2 were. I don't know the best way to describe it, but basically it feels like the Souls games have been using the same tricks since Demon's. The only major change they've made is that in each game it becomes harder to circle strafe and backstab enemies. They haven't done a lot to make the moment to moment exploration feel daunting because I'm now easily able to predict when an ambush is coming, or I can often figure out the best strategy for defeating an enemy based off of how they look.
Also, weapon arts look cool. I hope they get used well, because they have the potential of really making the combat feel more varied instead of being "R1 Souls" majority of the time. And I hope the level design is at least as good as Bloodborne. To me the various pathways and shortcuts and big sprawling area's of Dark Souls 1 have yet to be beaten. Bloodborne was close, but not quite there. So please be a little better than Bloodborne?
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.
Another thing that I am excited for is the world is suppose to wrap around itself. Much like Dark Souls 1 where you would could always end up back at Firelink Shrine no matter where you went. Oh ya, Firelink is back!
