Silly video game humor infused with ecchi waifu lolis. I mean, what's not to love?
Okay, just making sure it wasn't something else I was missing. ;)

Sarge, the whole thing is a parable about the video game industry. Like Neptunia is Sega (get it? "Neptune"?)

Oh, I know about that part... I was just curious if there were some good gameplay hooks in there or if it's all "let's laugh at the console analogies and look at all the otaku bait".

Or, you know, if anyone was being entirely serious at all about it. ;)

It's also got really likable characters (even if Nepgear has no personality), and the combat system is actually really solid and a lot of fun. I mean, us weebs do obsess a bit much over it, but it really is an extremely well made and light-heartedly fun series (although the new one does get a lot darker than the others, I must admit).

Game not beat: Mutant Mudds Deluxe. I just don't think it's going to happen. The space and ghost levels are really kicking my ass...
I review (mostly old) games at: The Annals of Retrodom.

So is Nep Nep an action game? An RPG? An SRPG? I can never tell from screenshots and the game boxes, but it's something I've wanted to try for a while. Gonna try and pick up that new triple pack if I can ever find a copy.

Pretty sure they're straight-up RPGs.

That's because different games are different genres:

JRPG
Hyperdimension Neptunia / Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1
Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 / Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory / Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation
Megadimension Neptunia VII

pop idol raising sim
Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection

SRPG
Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart

musou style
Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed
MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies

VS fighting
Hyperdimensional War: Neptune's Platoon vs Sega Hard Girls

These are fun games if you're not a stuffy prude. ;p
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Wow so much Nep o_o Never realised how many games there were. They do look interesting to me so I might have to try one sometime.

I've got 11 of the 12 games (I'm still hoping for a Western localization of the Sega Hard Girls crossover since I love the English voice actors).
