to some extent.BoneSnapDeez wrote: Starting from scratch cuz you sold everything at once point, eh?
I sold off a whole lot of stuff back when I was building my PC.
I had kept my X'Eye and some Sega CD games. I had kept 2 of my 3 Dreamcasts and a handful of games.
Re: Games Acquired 2016
I wish I had an X'Eye. I remember looking into those years ago. I wouldn't mind a CDX, either. But of course, number one priority for retro system is a Turbo Duo. I'm going to cave and get one eventually. It and the Neo Geo are the only major consoles I'm missing.
(I wouldn't mind getting some more esoteric stuff, but baby steps, baby steps. I don't think the Philips CD-i is a pressing concern right now.)

Once you get a Neo Geo (by which I assume you mean AES) you're gonna realize that you also want some way to play MVS games..... And then you'll want the CD system..... It snowballs.
"Major consoles" is also a relative term.
I'd file things like the Vectrex, Odyssey², and Famicom Disk System under that header though I'm sure many would disagree.

Re: Games Acquired 2016
Yeah, I think my cutoff for "major" starts at NES, although I do have an Atari 2600 and Colecovision, and want to reobtain an Intellivision. The NES is really where a lot of the games with more depth start showing up, so I'm a bit partial to its ilk more than the arcade-style score-chasers.
If I came across an Odyssey or Vectrex, you better believe I'd snag it, though. I'd also like to get an Amiga eventually.
Also, isn't there an MVS/AES converter? That's what I was thinking about. Either that, or building a supergun and getting the Neo Geo arcade board to hook up to it.

Re: Games Acquired 2016
I feel your pain. I ended up selling my PS3+games last year in a bit of a financial emergency... luckily, I managed to find a guy here in Japan who really, really loves American RPGs, and wanted all NA copies of them, so I didn't lose much, if any, money.noiseredux wrote:to some extent.BoneSnapDeez wrote: Starting from scratch cuz you sold everything at once point, eh?

Still sucks having to rebuild that collection, though.
I review (mostly old) games at: The Annals of Retrodom.
